I have seen quite a lot of photo's of DD's britidh and US and they got either (US)numbers on there sides or british DD's the letters "D""F""H"followed by some numbers how come there's no ships like that in the game?

It's not possible to have accurate pennant numbers because the game's texturing is problematic. All letters and numbers are backwards on one side of the hull, and sometimes the characters will appear all over the ship. I've started modding the British warships' skins to include these numbers (despite the problem) but the project is going to take a long time...

The lazy way is to limit yourself to "mirrorable" characters - AHIMOTUVWXY and 180.
But I'm sure you'll come up with a much more robust solution. I just hope that you can make it so that every ship in the same class doesn't appear with the same number (although I know SH3 chooses one of three class skins, so that will help a bit).

Only problem with the above is if u use more than 1 letter (AH becomes HA an so forth) and/or a N° other than 0, 1, 8, 11, 88, 101, 111, 181, 808, 818 or 888. Nowhere near enough N°'s.
And if u have H 88 on 1 side, on the other side it will be 88 H.
What should have been done was a Decal plane placed on all obj so unit N°'s could be used, this was not done. This is a 1 sided plane thats placed so damn close to the hull model that to all intents it looks like its part of the hull, 1 per side. With this done because the plane is reversed on the other side to put the skin side out, u end up with the ability to use indervidual Unit N°'s.
This would then need to be added to each units DAT file and a skin made to suit. I don't think we will see this any time soon.

Good point, less noticable on planes but not so on ships...hmmm...have fun with it and good luck! :)
