Is there some way you can adjust the ingame soundeffects? For instance I would like to be able to hear the torpedo doors opening and closing from inside the sub. I can hear it very faintly, by I would like it to be a bit louder. I would assume that in real life it would be very audible inside the sub (the metal conduction the sound and so on and so on...). I tried adjusting the soundfile in the windows soundrecorder, and turn up the volume, but now its just distorted, and still not very loud inside the sub.

You've right, torpedo door sound and torpedo launch sound from inside of uboot are too quiet in my opinion.

I agree to that. My experience is also that it'll only be distorted when you increase volume.

Your computer has a built-in Sound Recorder. Use this to bring up the appropriate files. Since they are .wav files Sound Recorder can talk to them. Sound Recorder has an 'Effects' button, which will let you change the volume on the selected files.

Yes, thank you...I know. To quote myself:

So you see. I tried "talking" to the wav files, but it didnt work. The sound just got distorted. (and a bit louder).

Anyone else has an idea?

There is an alternate version of torpedo tube opening.wav which I've tried. It is part of 'Real Sub V1.2(1.4ready)'. This is much louder than the default one. Available at -

Now are we talking about the sound of the torpedo doors opening EXTERNALLY or INTERNALLY?

It seems that it would naturally be quieter on the inside... I think...

Then there is the matter of how fast they are opened... wasn't this done by muscle power?

We talk about internal sound of torpedo door. It should be quieter than externally of course, but it's very difficult to hear it from inside now.

On the torpedo launching sound, it is quite, but if you had play the game Panzer General, you will got it familiar at the end of the loop :)

Panzer General
It is one of my favourite game, probably one of the best computer games ever made.
