Where are the aircraft??

Playing in 1944, can sail around the Biscay and british coastal waters without encountering a single airplane...the sky is empty!! :-?

Been therefore trying to tweak with airbases in the mission editor but can't see what must be changed....anyone can shed some light about which files do control the spawning of enemy aircraft??

Egan has made a nice mod making you little more busy when travelling over "Bay of Biscay".

One thing though, TC effects the intensity of air encounters!
Don't exceed TC more than 256, or it will be much less airtraffic!

what timecompression factor did you use, Hitman?
Me and others did some testing and maybe there´s a large bug in the game.
There seems to be almost zero airattack propability when using 1024x tc.
Yesterday i tried to make some screenshots for those i need bad weather.
So i traveled the biscaya up and downwards, waiting for rain. Year was 1944!
I was not attacked a single time for days!
After some days (it never rained) i lowerd tc to 512x and was attacked half an hour later.
Can anyone else confirm this?

For me there´s not less propability when on tc 1024x to be atacked by a plane, probability is zero!
Maybe it´s just a biscaya oddity, don´t know...

No I've been attacked in the Bay of Biscay at high compression. Aborted one new career when I was sunk my first patrol out!! :o Second the first one nearly sunk but my crew heroically saved the boat. This is with basic RuB 1.43 unmodded for air stuff.

I must now test if the problem appears when running 1024 upwards or when running at maximal TC....if it is the second one, thn probably setting 2048 as max can make planes appear at 1024 :shifty:

Yea, I started sailing in 256 lately, and I can't even charge my batteries without getting one of those pests on my tail nowadays :rotfl:

Yes I can confirm that BUT I also recognize that I have a good amount of mods installed in my SH3 :hmm:

My tests also gave the same result: Low TC means aircraft attacks, and high TC pleasent sailing :shifty:

I did some testing on this in the Bay of Biscay during January 1944. I made repeated runs at 512x and 256x. At 256x I encountered multiple aircraft attacks (I never survived past the first 4) within about 5 hours of game time. At 512x, on the exact same course, I didn't see a single aircraft in 36 hours of game time. That sure confirms this bug for me. I wish I'd known sooner...I've missed alot of action (and probably survived longer than I should have).
