Hi!
I´ve just tried the Super-Addon, well done! As I see it it´s supposed to be a mod collection for "everyone", right? If that´s the case I have a few suggestions.
It would be good if your bring back the Uboot marker (umark.tga) and the standard map updates.
Also you advertise it as "perfectly legal". If you want to have it absolutely legal remove all "Das Boot" sounds (I think there´s only the dive sequence in this mod). The Frontflottille guys tried to get the permission to use "Das Boot" sounds from "Bavaria Films", without success. They had to remove them from FF2.1. Also check the copyright situation of the ogg gramophone files that you have included, also fanfara_01.wav.
If you want to spread this mod via (German) gaming magazines you should remove the swastika from the Bismarck.
My final suggestion for now, make a second, much smaller version for dial-up users. This one takes more than 15 hours to download... :)
More feedback later...
Did I miss something, is it a bug or is the problem on my end but when I press F3 nothing happens. I have to go manually to periscope via command room.
Otherwise I like what I`ve seen so far! :up:

Here it works with F3.
Here it works with F3.
Oh well, it adds to realism as I have to rush to the tower. :)
I like it so far, great that someone has taken the time to compile all those mods. :rock:
Two items I would like to switch back to a pre mod state are;
1. I prefer to be able to see under water :doh:
&
2. The big waves are a problem. My watch crew are drowning. ;) :help:
Does anyone know how I can change back just these two items?

For both - replace the scene.dat file in the data folder with the game's original one. :hmm:

On the mod - I love the idea, though I won't use it myself since I'm a little too much of a custom-freak and have my own well-worn, well-modded SHIII version set up and constantly under revision. But for the average user, this should be great.
Unless I missed it somewhere - I would suggest including optional un-mods in it for user preference. :)

Fantastic idea just what I needed a compilation of all the fine work that has been done with this sim in one easy install package, and the best bit for me personally is that a full broadside salvo has been directly fired at those people who seek to make profit from the talented work that we have been privaliged to use since SHIII was released............just superb :rock:

For me too. I am missing some previously active key commands:
F3- Attack Periscope
U - UZO
O - Observation Periscope
B - Binoculars
N - Recognition Manual
And perhaps others, I haven't tried them all. None of these work anymore.
Also, on the left side pop out menu (the original one) the second command from the top (UZO) is now blank and clicking on it does nothing. To get to the UZO, I have to go to the bridge (F4) and click on the UZO explicitly. There is no shortcut for it.
On the whole though, I like the idea of this. There are some mods in here that I have not tried yet on their own so I am still getting used to some of the features. It seems that the view of the world from the external camera is somewhat more, I don't know how to describe it, clipped or flat or choppy or something that is slightly less desirable than what I was used to but its still early. We'll see.
Other than the missing key commands, I like this so far. I am hoping that the missing commands are common to others and not just me, and that a fix is easy. If not, I'm sure I can figure a way to remap the keyboard, I think I have seen utilities here that facilitate that.
For the record I copied a clean "Data" directory into the SHIII directory, used JSME to load RUB 1.43 and then Improved UBoat 1.0beta. (I also added MooseMeasure's ruler tool as I like that a lot. I recommend that it become a part of this mod.) My system is P4 2.6GHz, 1Gig RAM, gforce fx5700le with 128MB and driver 71.89. I regularly run "end-it-all" before starting the program with SHIII Commander V2.
Finally let me say: WOW. This is good stuff. When the bugs (mine or the mod's) are worked out, this is going to be the standard, along with RUB and Commander. My hat is off to everyone involved, and my thanks to Terrapin for hosting it.

I realized while I was writing my previous post that I had done just what I said. I copied a clean "Data" directory into the SHIII directory. What I did not do, however, was delete the "Data" directory from SHIII first. There could easily have been some remnants left hanging around in the depths of that directory that didn't get overwritten and are the cause of my problems.
I will repeat the process of "cleaning up my act", reinstall, and I'll get back to you. I hate to call "Bug" before I have exhausted my own limited stash of skills.
Again, this is fantastic work. Thanks.

I am pleased with the improved look and sound that this compilation gives the game and appreciate, greatly, all the work that has been done getting all the mods working together. :up: I' ve tried a few of the mods included, but have become a bit wary of trying new ones, lately, because of the risk of conflicts between them.
My main concern is how installing it may effect my style of play. I like making surface attacks on single ships and early-war convoys, at night or in bad weather. I note, from the readme, that AI visibility is improved in this mod. Will this make surface attacks much more difficult?
I used to play SH2, but found surface attacks were almost impossible, because AI destroyers spotted me much too easily - SH3 seems much better in this respect.

Just to say thanks so much for this compilation.
Keeping track of all the fantastic mods is so difficult.
My hat's off to all who do this fantastic work to enhance the sim and then post it for the rest of us who haven't the expertise or the time.
A very big thank you.

For the F3, B,U, hot key problems then this should fix them
Go into Program Files/Ubisoft/SilenthunterIII/data/Cfg/Commands_en
and change the following lines to this:
[Cmd16]
Name=Periscope_camera
Ctxt=1
MnID=0x3F020003
Key0=0x72,,"F3"
Page=0x26000000,3702
GoBack=Conning_tower_periscope
[Cmd17]
Name=UZO_camera
Ctxt=1
Key0=0x55,,"U"
Page=0x28000000,3718
GoBack=Conning_deck_camera
[Cmd18]
Name=Binocular_camera
Ctxt=1
Key0=0x42,,"B"
Page=0x27000000,3706
GoBack=Conning_deck_camera
It may have already been mentioned somewhere but...is this mod package compatable with RUb 1.43 and SH3 Commander v2?

The mod includes RUb 1.43. SH3 Commander also works with it.
And Improved Convoys?
IC is also included.
Hi!
Thanks for the feedback. Indeed the shortcut keys for the scopes don't work - a poster just gave instructions to make them work again. This was the "realistic embodiment mod" but should have been left out I think - by the time I realised this, it was already uploaded.
Gizzmoe et al - thanks for the suggestions. I'll attempt to implement them asap. What's the file for the umarker though?
Also, the waves it should be noted are only 1.25x higher, not 1.5x. The idea behind this is to simulate larger storms more correctly - anyone remember 'das boot'?

Regarding ai spotting distances, they now spot out to 12km. (The player spots out to 16)

Truely excellent piece of work! Much appreciation for your effort on our behalf! The graphics are sweeter, the sound more atmospheric, more realisitc visual range....I'm falling in love all over again :D .
Handy wee tip though...(may possibly be teaching several hundred grannies to suck eggs here, if I am - apologies!) you don't need the "b" key for binoculars - tab works. Press it and up come the binos, press it again and you go back to bridge view.
Also, has the power of the deckgun changed? I've only used it three times since installing the mod but it seems slighlty less effective. Didn't see anything in the readme about it and I'm really just curious....definitely NOT complaining!
Once again, three cheers for all involved in a spectacular add-on. :up:

Yes, it´s weaker now. It´s a RUb feature, RUb is part of Improved UBoat.

Have completed one patrol. No problems. Felt good and proper allright. Am going to do a system reinstall tonight and try again to see how it is on a vanilla SH3 install.

Going tot he Observation periscope is a problem on mine.
There doesn't seem to be any graphics or what not for the periscope. It's hard to describe. I'll take a screenshot later tonight.
FishGills - I'm aware of what you mean. When you press the "O" key the view gets corrupted.
You have to click on the periscopes on the 3d view. Until I release the patch, you could try setting your keyboard to the "German" in the SH3 options instead, should bring back all your keystrokes.
Great to have all these mods together . Is there a mod to improve the uzo appearance while looking around on deck. Secondly i notice that while on deck if i click on the compass this will bring a closeup of the compass . Then i am at the same eye level as the other crew . My question is , has someone made or is able to make a mod so that when i am on deck i am at the same eye level as the rest of the crew all the time .

DITTO!!!
I'm sick of being a 4'0" Kapitan, already.
I thought CCIP's Camera mod v2 would have solved this, though if he hasn't, he could release an updated version if he has the time.
