In case you don't know what to look for, look closely at the Navigation dial.

The 'After' pics are of Pascal's dials with the navigation numbers and letters(outer part of the dial) essentially from Ripbuds Readable Dials gauge.

I sort of did the same thing when I made the 'Wolfies and Ripbuds Merged Gauges', but all I had to do then was copy and paste Ripbuds outer dial into Wolfies.

For this one I had to lasso the each item(heading numbers and letters) individually, then paste it in, then I painted by hand in photoshop to get rid of the brown color that was contained within and surrounded them, with colors from Pascal's, so that they looked proper with Pascal's dials in regard to coloring. Took about 5 hours. Hey, I'm not real familiar with Photoshop! :hmm: If I were it probably would have taken me a little less time. :lol:

Anyway, what do you think? Do the heading numbers/letters look a little more readable now? ;)

For Version 1.2 I had to paint by hand for quite a while to make sure that... the lines looked proper, were at the correct placement, and were at pretty much the correct angle. I had to fire up SHIII a number of times to check it out by trial and error.

Cheers,

OneTinSoldier

--------------------------------------------------------

09-26-2005 Version 1.0

Added LARGE numbers and letters to the nevigation dial.

10-02-2005 Version 1.1

Added updated CE Gauges by Pascal and rulle34. The CE Gauges window no longer has border lines(seamless) and 'Voltmeter' has been changed to 'Ampere'.

10-11-2005 Version 1.2

Added darker marker lines to speed dial and shallow depth dial. Added LARGE numbers to the depth dial for the 50, 100, 150, 200, and 260 meter depth markers. Other minor tweaks.

Great work!
I really like this variant. Is it possible for DL if Pascal approves of course?

Very nice.

Yes, I've squinted too much at the nav dial. This will help.

I thank you to ask me but my work is open and i'm always glad to see improvements.
So, it's a nice work and i will use it. Perhaps also the grey dial inside needs now to be a little more dark (letters)

You will find on my japs website a psd file with this little dial in the same color as the big ones (dial.zip).

Hello,

Ok, thank you Pascal. :cool: You are welcome to download it and include it in any future updates you might do.

And rulle34, Avon Lady, and Pascal, thank you for your compliments!

Thank you for letting me know about the .psd file. If I decide to do anything more I will take a look at it. But I think having the numbers/letters on the inside of the dial a little bit different color than the numbers/letters that are on the outside part of the dial is probably a good thing. ;)

Pascal,

May I suggest a slight change to the "Voltmeter" dial: that it read "Amperes" instead. I have a version I made for my own use, but I'd be willing to offer it up to you as a contribution to your effort or to put it up as a separate mod if you didn't mind.

Seamless CE Gauges window, very nice Pascal! I like that little bit of extra HP Air tubing that's visible now too. :)

Pascal, may I suggest that you package the officer icons separately from the dials, as there are mods out there dedicated solely to the icons?

Could someone please tell me the name of the mod used on the officer icons, in the picture two posts above?

Thanks :)

Pascal did a new version of the CA dials.
He has replaced the word "Voltmeter" with "Ampere"
(Pascal, you should get rid off the letter "s" ;) )

Anyone here who is familar with electricity and could tell what was correct.
I remember i had a dial in one of my cars displaying the battery power.
It was displayed in "Volt", so it was a "Voltmeter" i guess.
Of course you cant compare to a sub...

I have made the changes of removing the "s" in the Ampere meter. I can sent it to you if you want to update the mod (with Pascals permission of course)?

And it's right to have a Amp meter!

Would the modders be willing to let us use these lovely dials in RUb? I'd love to have these gauges in RUb. The only thing that stopped me from asking before was that I thought the mod required changes to be made in the menu_1024_768.txt file, but I just noticed that's not the case.

Is there any way that the modders behind these great gauge mods would be willing to make a mod for RUb that included these and also Heretic's/Timetraveller's WO weather reports, my removal of the binocular crosshairs, and TT's less visible shortcuts bar? All of these mods use the data\Menu\menu_1024_768.ini file.

Alternatively, would the modders be willing to let me add these changes and use the mod in RUb? I'm not sure when I'd get time to do the adjustments, but I'd love to have these gauges in RUb.

Good idea, furthermore with the advent of Sergbuto's reflection fix for the Type II's, Type IX's, and conning towers etc... It would seem some of the NSS_Uboat_xxx .DAT files will need to be re-packaged to include .tga files that have been found there and altered by texture modders.

Going without the new water reflections is really not an option anymore.

I actually wrote that before I realised that there is no menu_1024_768 in these mods.

lol I just realized that too... I was thinking too far ahead about the NSS_Uboat_xx files and the tga's packed in there that Pascal has modded.

It's only partially finished, and the info is only available on the SH3 Mod Team forum. I hope I'm not stepping on any toes by reposting it here. This is Heretic's mod with Timetraveller's adjustment:

in menu_1024_768.ini

change:

[G3F I237]
Name=&Weather
Type=1032;Button
ItemID=0x3F250006
ParentID=0x3F0A0000
Pos=162,-1,26,26
Materials=4
Display=2;Linear
Mat 0=data/menu/gui/layout/MainOrders.tga
Crop 0=0.527344,0,1,1
Mat 1=data/menu/gui/layout/MainOrders.tga
Crop 1=0.527344,0,1,1
Mat 2=data/menu/gui/layout/MainOrders.tga
Crop 2=0.527344,0,1,1
Mat 3=data/menu/gui/layout/MainOrders.tga
Crop 3=0.527344,0,1,1
MatFlags=0x1
TexFmt=0x9
Font=1
TextFlags=0x0
StatesColors=0xB0B0B0FF, 0xFF, 0xFFFFFFFF, 0xFFFFFFFF
ToolTipText=2851
ToolTipBox=0x3F030007, 0x0

This switches over the weather report to the WO so that you can only get weather reports when surfaced. The button doesn't show up properly, but it does work.

Just downloaded the latest version. I've been using Pascal's Dials1.tga since the first release. Brilliant work.

Curiously though, how come the latest version has a cream "smudge" running down the right hand side of the fuel level gauge (it can be seen in the first dials image on the previous page of this thread)? It doesn't look right. Is it deliberate? The second dials image on page one is much better.

It sounds pedantic, but it's what has been stopping me from using the latest version :(

Please try it again. At first I accidentally still had it linked to v1.1, but I corrected it soon thereafter. Just let me know if it's still giving you v.1.1. It shouldn't though, it should be giving you v1.2 now.

Sorry about the mix-up.
