RUB 1.43, SH3Cmdr, Type VIIC and the 2nd Flotilla

can anyone tell me whether or not the 2nd flotilla has type VIIc boats available to it, when using RUB 1.43 and SH3Cmdr?

RUb with SH3 Commander doesn't assign any Type VIICs to 2nd Flotilla. 2nd Flotilla only ever used the first model of Type VII.

I started in the 2nd Flotilla with the VIIB boat. It is now fall of
1940 and I have the option to upfrade to a VIIC. I am using
only the patch 1.4b and the RUB 1.41 mod....

The SH3 Commander mod is what determines the realism of the flotilla assignments. You can't get realistic flotilla assignments unless you're using that mod, because the game only uses one file to assign boats to every flotilla. The SH3 Commander mod loads a different variant of that file for each flotilla whenever SH3 Commander is used to launch the game, so it gives players different U-boat availabilities specifically tailored to each flotilla.

Until 1941 2nd Flotilla used VIIA and VIIC types, after 1941 only type IX.

I see where you are coming from.

Unfortunately I have lost my copy of the work I did regarding u-boat numbers, flotillas, etc. However, what I did was take the u-boat numbers of the boats assigned to the relevent flotilla and use those numbers to ascertain what type of boat they were.
The information was obtained from Uboatwar.net as Uboat.net does not list the vessels.

Hence the apparent discrepancy.

2. Flotilla didn't have assigned any Type VIIB's or VIIC's.
The only Type VII's where the commonly designated Type VIIA's.
The last one to be transfered out of the 2nd, was U34 transfered to 21.UF -30/9/40.

uboat.net does infact contradict itself. If you manually look up every uboat number and compare flotilla assignments, one can compile an accurate uboat/flotilla listing.

He currently has the 1st, 2nd flotilla, publicated.

Hackett is right. 2nd Flotilla only ever used the Type VIIA. However, this cannot be fixed in RUb (or the standard game or any mod) because if I deny the Type VIIC from 2nd Flotilla, I'd have to deny it to every other flotilla too. Plus, the Type VIIA doesn't appear in the game.

The SH3 Commander utility is the only way to assign flotillas their correct U-boats, and SH3 Commander already features the correct U-boat assignments for 1st, 2nd and 7th Flotillas. 2nd Flotilla gets the Type VIIB boat, which is the closest to the Type VIIA that the game allows. The info for 2nd Flotilla assignments was taken from '2nd U-boat Flotilla' by Lawrence Patterson - it is the definitive work on the 2nd Flotilla.
