View Full Version : Is the Sandown protected from magnetic detonators?

I was reminded today of a topic I had wanted to bring up...
The British Sandown is protected against magnetic detonation mines by its glassfiber hull, ie it doesn't trigger them magnetically.
Now, while DW mines are kind of retarded (they are ), I was wondering if the Schkval will detonate on a Sandown?
If a modern mine can't detonate on it, could the 'rocket'? :arrgh!:

What I am trying to say is that because of the minimal magnetic disturbance caused by the hull, the Schkval might not go off.

might not but if it hits the hull hard enough which im pretty sure it will i think it might go off

The Sandown is listed as having a MAD SL at a similiar level to other warships of its size, so yes, all MAD sensors will work on it.
