I did a bit of editing in a scripted mission just to see what might happen by changing the numbers a bit.

Here is the weather section of the mission:
Fog=0

FogRand=0
Clouds=1
CloudsRand=1
Precip=0
PrecipRand=0
WindHeading=40
WindSpeed=6.900000
WindRand=2
WeatherRndInterval=1
SeaType=0
Briefing=

First notice I set the WeatherRndInterval=1 instead of the minimum of 2, not sure if this made a difference or not.

It seems anything above 6.000000 in the wind speed is classed as a storm, I had the clouds set as High clouds at the start of the mission but the sea was a bit choppy.
Then after a day it changed to Overcast clouds and the sea got a bit more rough.
This stayed like this for 2 more days then changed to clear sky but the sea was still slightly choppy, I couldn't man the deck-gun as it was still classed as a storm.

Also on the first weather change, the look-out crew had mixed clothing, some for storm and some for fine weather. After I had to crash dive due to aircraft attack they all had storm gear on when surfaced.

They still had storm gear on when the last weather change took place with clear sky, but like I said it was still classed as storm so that might explain it.

The thing I'm driving at is, through playing around with the numbers in the weather section, I seem to have forced a few things to happen, so with a bit more experimenting... who knows?

As far as I know the watch crew only change clothing when you take them off the bridge, either manualy or automaticly when you dive the boat.

Ah, I forgot about that, I think I remained surfaced after the storm, cheers. :up:
