Is there any way to edit a cfg file or something so that the binocular zoom can be increased?

I'm trying to find the thread.. it's very old... came out when 'Shift+F2' was hot stuff...

In the meantime, try this keyboard combo when looking through the binocs: Ctrl + "+"'...

Thank you for your efforts. Hope you find it.

No dice with the CTRL + "+"

Might be because of the mods.

I'll keep checking back.

Thanks again

Zoom to x10 by Periskop, Seerohr, UZO, Deckgeschütz etc.

1. Save ur commands_en.cfg from data/Cfg directory!

2. open with Editor!

3. search for this commands: [Cmd70] & [Cmd71]

looks then so:

[Cmd70]
Name=Cam_zoom_in
Ctxt=1

[Cmd71]
Name=Cam_zoom_out
Ctxt=1

4. Add this CMD under Cmd70 in:
Key0=0xBB,Rc,"+"

5. Add thsi CMD under CMD71 in:
Key0=0xBA,Rc,"ü"

looks after so:

[Cmd70]
Name=Cam_zoom_in
Ctxt=1
Key0=0xBB,Rc,"+"

[Cmd71]
Name=Cam_zoom_out
Ctxt=1
Key0=0xBA,Rc,"ü"

6. Save and its finished

,,STRG + +" & ,,STRG + ü", zoom in and out now (+ & ü Buttons for zoom in & out)

Excellant... :up: ... this zoom mod is an oldie but goodie...

Couldn't find the thread with the Forum Search though... :cry:

Here's how I have it edited in my Commands_en.cfg...

[Cmd70]
Name=Cam_zoom_in
Ctxt=1,2
Key0=0xBB,Rc,""

[Cmd71]
Name=Cam_zoom_out
Ctxt=1,2
Key0=0xBD,Rc,""

Looks like I need to add that '+' thing... I'd have to reconfig my XP keyboard to get the 'umlaut u' key...

Right now, I zoom to 10x with 'Ctrl +' and I zoom out with the mousewheel.. works for me!.. :lol: ...

Besides, since I'm the Kaleun, I've installed my own 'special' Zeiss binocs, periscopes, Uzo & open gunsights on the Boat (at my own expense, ya' know)... not that Walmart stuff from BdU.. :rotfl:

Hi!

Good idea to zoom it with the mouse!

I will take that, too. Now zooming with keyboard..... but think with mouse much more comfortable.

Thanks for that tip! :)

Yeah, mouse zoom will be great!
But I have another question with this subject - is it possible to make mod (or edit game file) which helps to exit from UZO and binocular view with right mouse button?

jaxa,

I tried to use the RMB some time ago, but when you press it you go back twice!

I don't know if somebody fix it....

10X is great for spotting smoke trails on the horizon. And
since your deck crew is not programmed to see smoke, you
can spot approaching ships long before they actually see them...

Great post. This is something I've definitely been wondering about to help ID ships nationalities without approaching too close and risk being detected. Thanx for the info FLB sale U-999. :)

Did the real optics on use on the uboat have the same limited zoom capabilities that are used ingame? If so, did they have as hard a time to ID what they could attack and couldn't ie. neutral or enemy nationality?

Keep up the great work all!
