View Full Version : Ships at sea are not moving??

I think this problem has something to do with the Harbour traffic mod I just installed. The traffic in the harbour looks great but when I'm out at sea I recieve a Enemy Small Convoy Radio Report say (for example) Grid BE 39 Speed 1 kts. I rush over to that position and find 2 ships at 0 kts, anchored like in the harbour. Its happened a few times now, makes great target practice but I like when its more challenging. Does anyone have this problem or can help me fix this.
Thanks DC2

I don't think it is the harbor traffic mod sir.... It only models traffic in and close by the harbors.

If you were deep in the Atlantic.... something else is the culprit.

That happens quite often in the stock campaign. Recently I found an entire convoy "anchored" in the Western Approaches, guarded by 4 DDs. None moving. Well, the DDs were patrolling, but slowly.

I think CCIP had tracked down which group(s) this might be.

CCIP?

I'm sorry what is CCIP??
:rotfl:

No, I haven't looked into it. But since I know where it is... I'll give this a look today. Chances are, it's just a badly-set waypoint for one of the RND groups there.

The standard, non-modified campaign= "stock" campaign. IE no changes to the RND or SCR layers.

Nailed them!

Group CarribeanSea_44_001, WP 15. (check the rest of it, too)

Fix 'er up in IC if you can, Jason!

CCIP,

I take a look in the stock RND and find 5 groups with a WP seed = 1knot, which is the same "bug" of the Group CarribeanSea_44_001, WP 15.

Oh. If you can list these and send them to Jason - that would be good. He's the one who's handling the RND file with IC/Ops around here :)

Just a minute!

Just wondering - is that for single waypoints, or for the whole route?

Here they are (stock RND):

CarribeanSea_40_001 wp15
CarribeanSea_41_001 wp15
CarribeanSea_42_001 wp15
CarribeanSea_43_001 wp15
CarribeanSea_44_001 wp15

All these groups are set to speed=1knots in the wp15. I find some groups with 0knots but only in the last waypoint, so I think that is intentional.

Ah, ok. No wonder I was seeing these same guys in the other years...

It's cause they're just the same group, but copied over and over. Hope they get looked over then.

Thanks! :)

We are crossing posts! :D

Only in one waypoint (WP15), and it's on the middle of the route.
