Ever noticed, that if you are near anything really fat, something like a convoy or a task force and you have time compression up round 256 to 1024 the game gets a bit slower and the time passes by sometimes really slow ? Best indication that something big is shipping in your vicinity... get dived, stop the engines and let your ears circle 360°... in 90% of all cased I found a convoy or a TF... okay it´s not worth Iron Man rules, but it boosts up your career if you get bored of sinking lonely merchants
Yep, I use that tactic.
It's caused by the game engine updating the ship positions more regularly and thus, each game "cycle" takes longer to process.
If you carry on at the higer TC with the game jumping about your more likley to experience the ship spotted at 50m range problem that a lot of people have.
Lol, my game is so slow on 1024 that if there would be a convoy or TF near, my computer would unplug itself and jump through the window to make a suicide. :)

I use that also. If I am at 1024 and it starts chugging, I know something big is close by.

Me too. It's kind of sad.
There's supposed to be a tool that speeds up the framerate on the navigation map.

You can tweak the Shader P value and that's supposed to increase framerate. I don't know if it removes the stutter at 1024x or not, since I haven't had time to try it.
