I just started using sergbuto's Additional Merchants mod. I really like it. Having an extra two targets to sink is a welcome change. I just finished my first patrol in U-6, a Type IIA. I got 44,276 tons! I was ordered to patrol AN56. When I was finished, I headed a bit south and met a C2. I sank it in one shot. Then, I headed down towards AN81 area. I met my first large cargo. Those are a whopping 17,000+ tons. I split him in two. My next target was, you guessed it, a large cargo. I forgot to set my speed to fast on the TI, so that torpedo hit the propeller area. I had to use another one to split him in two. My last target was one of three that simultaneously appeared. It was a small merchant. Right after it sank, I saved my game. Right after that yet another large cargo came into view. If I would have waited on firing, I would have sank 3 of them. Do you think it is cheating having such targets in the game? I haven't seen the transport introduced by the mod yet.

"Oh no a cheater",
:lol:
If you are enjoying yourself and getting satisfaction out of the game than continue playing it like you are. You ain't hurting anyone else so why you worried about cheating?

You are not really cheating, but...
The Large Transport also comes with RUb. The displacement of it was considered a bug, Beery has also changed renown.

You can also get v2.0 of the additional merchants mod (what I'm using) from sergbuto's website.

What are the values Beery uses for the transport? I think I like those large cargo values a bit better.

Those look the same as the large cargo you posted up top. Are they the same for both?

Sorry!
"Transport" (nptr) is
Displacement=13850
RenownAwarded=420
The values for "Transport" are ok, you don“t need to change them.

Ok, thanks. I've been wondering, were there any 17,000 ton cargo ships in WWII, or were T3s the largest cargo vessels?
I think T3 Tankers are the largest, other than Passenger Liners, which are rare.
Other than that, battleships and Carriers.

I can't feel guilty about enjoying this game. I know it is just a game. It is like playing any game where the opponent is eliminated. Were it real, I would have no part in it. This is just a game... just a simulation...

If you're asking if it's cheating, then you're obviously worried that it might be. You might want to try the 20/20 mod, which reduces lone merchant encounters to almost nothing.
Still and all, if your not playing against someone else or in a campaign, you only have yourself to please. Sinking a million tons while playing on the easiest level would still not really be cheating. Bragging about how good you are at it might be pushing things a little.
