I would like to install the new harbour traffic mod, but I am having problems. I am running Rub. 1.43 and the new patch 1.4. How do you install without using JSGME? It states in the read me file on how to intall only using JSGME.
Thanks for any help. DC2

Simply extract the data folder that´s inside the archive to the main SH3 folder, overwrite the old files.

Why don't you use JSGME? :damn:

DC2Sal,

Like Gizzmoe said...
When you decompress the 7z file it already have the SH3 folder structure on. So if you really don't want use the JSGME just copy and overwrite all the files in the data folder (after decompress) over your SH3 installation or just extract directly over the top of your SH3 installation, ok?

Rubini.

On a side note.......if you can spare the drive space......next chance you get I'd run a clean install of SH3 to a seperate folder as a backup to be used in the event that the sh3 folder/files get fubar'd. My install is under
d:\program files\ubisoft\SilentHunterIII
and my backup is
d:\program files\ubisoft\Copy of SilentHunterIII (never altered! only used to overwrite the other folder)
The backup is a fresh install patched to 1.4, it's saved me from having to run through the install process a few times.
The benefit of using JSGME would be that if things go really bad all I have to do is copy my Mods folder to the newly replaced sh3 location. ;) Makes recovery a little less of a headache since I tend to mix and match quite a few mods that may or may not play nice together and I end up editing files by hand to include the diffs. If I screw it up real good I gots a backup without re-installin.

Gotta love dem SATA drives

I'm sorry but I still dont see any harbour traffic in Brest. I extracted the HT data file into the main SHIII folder using winrar. Now when I open up the data folder from SHIII where it has the folders labeled air, animations, campaings, Cfg, for example thats where I find the folder labeled harbour_traffic_for_Rub_143. I'm guessing that is not right. The reason for not JSGME is that, it says to install over a clean version of SHIII, but I have the Rub1.43 and SHIII commander already installed. I hope you can understand my problem and can help me out.
Thank you DC2

thats where I find the folder labeled harbour_traffic_for_Rub_143

And inside that folder is the data folder, copy it to the main SH3 dir.

So when I copy the data folder for HT and put it in the data folder for SHIII, I have 2 labeled data folders inside the main SHIII data folder? Is that right ?

No. When you copy the data folder into the main SH3 directory the old campaign files will be overwritten. There won´t be a second data folder.

Check sh3\data\campaigns\campaign to see if it worked. There should several campaign files in it, including one "no minefields".
