Changing Time Compression Values (need help)

So I've gone into the Main.cfg and tailored the time compression to my liking, but it doesnt have any effect on the game. I am almost running stock 1.4 with just the SonarDC and Detailed Bearings mod installed. I have tried to change them with straight stock before with no better results any way...

I suspect the issue lies with the fact that in the Main.cfg file, the player info is not the same as my actual campaign. In fact it just says:

Which so far as I can tell I've never been (I'd never gotten to 1942 in the two campaigns I'd done)...

So anyone got any advice on how to sync my Main.cfg with my campaign? or maybe the problem lies elsewhere?

There are two main.cfg files.
The one you've found, I think, is in the SilentHunterIII install directory.
The other is in the SH3 directory in My Documents.
Change the values there, as well, as see if it works.
