P3 Orion - AGM-65 Air to Surface Missile

Hey, Im having problems with the AGM 65 on the P3.

Arround 5 mins ago I got off a server with someone (HaBo, nice games :) )

He was in an Akula and I was in a P3, i new where he was as he surfaced right under me and gave me a scare, he shot down the AI Helo that was searching for him.

I took this in mind and got ready to blast his ass with the AGM Missiles, he surfaces and takes a few shots, I get him into the laser guided path and try to assign him as a target :( it wont work. I won anyway because a torp I dropped earlier finaly caught up to him :)

But the basic question is, how do I fire AGM 65 missiles from the P3 at surfaced submarines?

You must classify sub as a surface target :up:

Did you classify the surfaced sub as sub-surface contact or surface contact? I am not sure, but I guess if the target is classified as sub, you won't be able assign an anti-surface missile to it.

well I wasnt exactly sure where he was.

He popped up and I got him with the radar.

Will I have to manually select him as a surface contact or can I just fire at him as a unknown radar contact?

Must manually classify as surface ship,uderwise NO JOY :)

The aforementioned method of classifiying as Surface works perfectly. However if you are within visual range the AI will reclassify it to sub no matter what, so you better stay outside visual (which btw. helps keeping you alive longer).
