This is the issue, to get the Torp Depth Gauge to set depth greater than 25m.

Here is the section in question

[Dial0]
Name=Torp_Depth
Type=16; DIAL_TORP_DEPTH
Cmd=Set_torpedo_depth
Dial=0x3B0600FF
CrtVal=0x3B060001
NewVal=0x0
DialVal=27,330
RealVal=0,25; meters
Circular=Yes
CmdOnDrag=Yes

This is what I change it to

[Dial0]
Name=Torp_Depth
Type=16; DIAL_TORP_DEPTH
Cmd=Set_torpedo_depth
Dial=0x3B0600FF
CrtVal=0x3B060001
NewVal=0x0
DialVal=27,330
RealVal=0,50; meters
Circular=Yes
CmdOnDrag=Yes

End resault is the Needle in the Torp Depth Gauage will only go ½ way so the depth is still at 25m. It refuses to move 1 mm below 25m depth.

I have tried a several differant depths below 25m in the line "RealVal=0,25; meters" and the end resault is alway a max depth of 25m regardless of the dials real value.

Any1 have any idea's !

Thx

Why do you want the torpedo to run deeper than 25m? Just curious...

25? I was wondering the same as Gizzmoe... :hmm:

PD.: Nope, I don't know how would that be modded, I'm just curious. :rock:

Nothing that would interest u. Its not about realisim.

(Now I expect no more posts or help about the Torp Depth Gauge - mark my words)

That´s very unfriendly. And I don´t even belong to the realism faction...

I have found that if its not about realisim, it gets left to rot on these forums.

Sad state of affairs, and I cant say realisim floats my boat.

That´s not true!

Sad state of affairs, and I cant say realisim floats my boat.

Me neither, I haven´t even tried manual TDC yet...

Come on, please tell us!!!

Some more details, please? What are the major improvements/features? 339MB is more than just a basic Sub vs. Sub mod. Lots of textures and sounds and stuff? What else? I´m getting real curious! :)

:o 339MB? What have you modified? :hmm:

Maybe the using acoustic and wake-homeing torps to perform submerged sub vs. sub warfare. Interesting.

In sub v. sub, I would only be shooting the acoustics...

Yeah, but you take what you get. I sub running silent may only be trackable through its wake...it would leave a wake, and being able to run the torp at 25m would help it track it.

is a modern sub vs sub ?? or is for the ww2 ??

the wake homing torpedos works better for surface targets,( in dangerous waters)

for sumerged targets its better a active sonar torpedo

i wanting to launch my fish deeper than 25 m

Ok the drama is this, we can launch Torps down to a depth of 305m - below that depth the Torp will be destroyed at launch. So a depth limit of 300m is used on all subs. Now whilst u can launch at that depth U cant AIM at that depth, example: say ur at 200m and aim at a Sub at 250m deep, ur torpedo will NOT go down to that depth.

Now whilst I have made the torp's a "Set Depth Torp" this limits the torp to the same depth as the sub, example : ur sub is at 300m and u fire a torp, ur torp will stay (for a set distance and time) at that same depth - 300m. After a while it will slowly start to climb upto the max depth of the Top depth gauge which is 25m. This is not satisfactory.

I would much rather be able to aim at a sub at any depth (limited to a max depth of 300m for the reasons above regards the torps distruction) and do away with the "Set Depth Torp" since NOW it can be set to a depth via the torp depth gauge so there for it would no longer be required to use the "Set Depth Torp" method.
