I need help with a resolution mod

G'day,

I'm struggling with the resolution mod. Can someone please lead me to the most user friendly mod. I've downloaded a couple but always seem to come un-stuck on where to put the files. My knowledge in files is limited :( . So if you know a resolution mod with a step by step way to make my resolution alot better please help.
