New to SH3 commander

Hi,

I just reinstalled SH3 to use with SH3 commander. I hit "Prepare for new career", generate a name, select a date and choose a sub...but for what? I chose September 1944 (for a beginning :smug:) and Type VIIC/41...ingame at the starting date selection screen I can select "my" skipper, but I'm still bound to 1943 (as far as I understand, that okay), but even after the career started date is January 1st, 1943 and I'm in a plain Type VIIC...so what gives? Am I making something wrong or is this working as designed? Is it possible at all to start let's say Decemebr 1944?

I'm not sure about SH3-Commander, but SH3's game-displays do not show correct sub-type information for VIIC/41 and VIIC/43 subs, even after purchase; It still says you have a VII-C sub.

An easy way to find out if you have the VIIC/41, try to purchase again. It should state 'You already have it', and won't allow another purchase of the same sub.

Ah, that would explain the "discrepancy" of the sub type.
