Hello,
Just wondering what the file or files were for editing the ammount of trees on land.
Also, is the terrain elevation based off a graphic elevation map of some sort and if so.... where is it? I've been looking...... but if anybody knows off the top of they're head it would be great to know.
I think the terrain is too flat in a lot of places and too sparce on trees.
Thanks

The terrain is a combination of SRTM and GTOPO30 data. From both formats the appropriate information was again reorganized to correspond the internal data format for the SH3 engine. The so gained data are then divided into tile sections to load only the appropriate part of the world into the memory where the player be.
You can finde the tiles for the map *.rl (run-length encoded) in:
SilentHunterIII\data\Terrain\Maps\Map2
and in compact format for the 3D terrain engine in:
SilentHunterIII\data\Terrain\Data\TerrainData.BFD
