A little Titbit of Information about the Clock and its Manufacturer in Silent Hunter 3:
The Clock shown in the game is a clock that was really produced in Germany by a really popular company called "Junghans" that exists from about the 19th Century till today. They where really lookling like in the game, and the company did supply the whole Wehrmacht (Heer, Luftwaffe, Kriegsmarine) with precision clocks. They also did made precision detonators etc.. After the war, they got dismantled like many german companies but did succeed in rebuilding. They've even made the first radio controlled clock that did sync with an atomic clock in 1986 that was aviable for the broad public. a little time later, in 1990, they did made the first radio controlled wristwatch. They are also manufactoring military supplies like detonators for the Bundeswehr (Heer, Luftwaffe, deutsche Marine) again.
Thought it could interest some folks here. :)
darkdrone, nice design but you should add "Junghans" somewhere, otherwise.... :up:

@Darkdrone
Don't want to be the spoiler: I really like the idea, but I think the proportions are a little off. No offense intended, but I think the whole symbol should be smaller, since it completely dominates the watch. Most of the times when Third Reich symbols were added to an object, the symbols remained in the background. Still easily noticable, but not sticking out like that. In any case I believe the eagle with the swastika was the symbol of the "Wehrmacht" i.e. the Army, and not the Navy. I'm not sure about that however.
In any case not all armed forces watches seem to have carried a swastika or other symbol:
here's a pic of a Luftwaffe watch 1942.

and here of a pocket watch from 1942. This one only has a small eagle (reichsadler) on the outside.

So I'd opt for a small "Reichsadler" on the bottom :)
Thanks for all the effort!!

That watch is made by Laco/Lacher and is available for purchase from different retailers in the U.S. and Europe (mine came from History Preservation Associates (http://historypreservation.com/hpassociates/index.html)). It looks exactly like the pic above and is a very durable watch, much like it would have been back during the war.

Hi!
I found a site (here (http://www.knirim.homepage.t-online.de/a0501mod.htm)) showing a Junghans stopwatch used by Kriegsmarine surface ships to measure torpedo running times and other such things. It may be the image quality, but I don't see a swastika on it.
I checked e-Bay for Junghans stopwatches - I found a couple of them, but no one could quite put a finger on how old they were.
Out of curiosity, is the stopwatch referenced in this mod based on a real stopwatch, or is it hypothetical?
