I just came home after a long, icky patrol west of Brest...
On my way to the grid, we find a small merchant. The weather is fine, so we man the gun to go kablooey on'im. KABLOOEY! he said, and the mandatory red wreck-icon appeared on the map.
Then we patrol the grid for three days, and patrol another for two days. "Brum brum brum" says the convoy that we finally pick up!
"Clang" says three duds. "BOOM" says four that aren't. The T3 is listing like a devil, and a C2 breaks in half. Finally, the T3 stops its engines... about 20-30 degrees to its starboard.
We wait as the convoy and its merchants disappear... but the SO contacts are annoying, and I only want a warning if the warships get near...
so we build up distance, and mark the spot on the map (though another red icon has already appeared).
"Chugga-chugga-chugga" says my electric engines in a muffled fashion.
After about five hours, we return. The storm is still raging, and external camera-forward, what do I see?
I don't see a tiddly tool.
THE T3 IS GONE. GONNER. AWAY.
I search like a rabid dog by external camera as much as by u-boat.
NOTHING! NOTHING!
:damn: :damn: :damn:
The T3 is lost.. I SAW it, it would sink within a day, maximum!
It has probably drifted away. What's the current about here? The current shouldn't be that strong, and in any way, I was travelling in the direction of the current before I headed back, on the surface!
But okay.. okay... at least my crew and I know we slapped that convoy hard.
Return to Brest. "Weeee!" the women shout to us. "Weeee!" the men shout to us. Sailors sail many seas.
So, back to the summary... WHAT?! 2,400 tons sunk?! " 1 " (ONE) ship sunk? I'll KILL someone for this! THERE WERE TWO DEAD ICONS!
:nope:
It's no good to the men's morale to see their captain cry.
