Hi all

with the pending release of RuB 1.43 ( ), we still have excellent mods in progress. Can all modders please ensure that on release you specify if it will be compatible with RuB1.43. I know that I personally will only have RuB1.43 installed so it would be great if all mods were made with a view to being compatible with RuB and installable by jgsme.

I have a dream that one day there will be but 1 mod...the Real Uboat mod. :sunny:

nope Not gonna happen.

As fantastic as the RUB mod is there are too many things people don't want in it. I played the RUB mod for a bit and then started my own. I can only speak for my self but i really don't make a mod for other people i make it to have the stuff i want and don't want in it like many others im sure. The RUB mod has got to be the best realism mods made but even still i still find my locked in a constant struggle for more realism. The mod im working on now is nice but its no RUB mod none the less its about as realistic as it can be made . My only beef with the game is I cant get the destroyers to be tuff enough in the early part of the war 39 40 41 iv made all the destroyers have sonar and depth charge racks in 1939 and have been sunk by them but still slip away too easily.

yeah good points u've both raised however if I remember clearly, the improved convoys mod also had an Unreal Uboat Mod in it ie. that gave people the option of undoing some of the stuff (eg. I personally like the ext view just to admire my sub from time to time).

well... there's UnRealUboat and other un-mods for those who don't like parts of RUb!

I honestly think it's a better base to build on than default SHIII, since it even just simply fixes bugs in the game.

But of course, alternatives are ALWAYS good. Heck, I might have switched to RUb since 1.43 beta, but it's still so heavily modded that it only partially works like actual RUb.

The modders, I think they have better things to do than ensuring that their creation is compatible or not with another mod. If you want to know, you have to find it out yourself.

Here's a contrarian thought: it depends on the modder's interest to support RUb users (the modder may be a RUb user, too!) and the complexity involved to support compatibility.

If interested, all a modder has to do is ask Beery if he can assist, should a conflict arise.

All I'm saying is don't dismiss it.
