I downloaded a few mods that were .rar files. Do I need some special tool to extract them or are they all ready to be plugged in to the install folder as is?

They're just a different type of compression than .zip files. Download WinRAR and you're in business. It's free and it also unzips .zip files in a much friendlier manner than WinZip.

I found it...and its good. i just like getting direct links to things Im unfamiliar with. It helps to minimize mistakes on my part...especially when your trying to do things 5mins before you run off to school.
That way I can possibly avoid problems similar to those who downloaded the wrong SHIII patch version...I rather not complicate my day if someone is willing and able to facilitate for me.
