Outside Camera view question.

I did ask this a long time ago when I first installed SH3, I know some of you won't/don't like it but I like the outside camera view, I used to like watching my sub in SH2 this way but in SH3 I know I can still see it but I have to keep moving the camera around to keep up with the sub.

My question is has anybody found a way to Lock-on to the player sub?

I did try those keys but they don't lock on the player sub, at least for me they don't.

I'm now wondering how to get it without installing the patch.

I don't yet have the 1.4 patch installed but I did download it to try and find where the camera fixed to the sub is modified.
I installed to a spare folder but it only installed a few folders/files.
I THINK the the camera fix is situated in the Data-CFG-Commands_en file.
I've tried altering certain parameters but without success, can anyone shed some light on the bits I need to alter to get it to work please?

I just use 1.4b; it fixes and adds so many other things it's well worth it.

I seem to hit a brick wall with this... The period and comma keys in 1.4 work great unless you mess up and go one extra click. Instead of going back to the first ship or staying at the last ship, it goes into views from high up in the air, strange angles, a camera that bounces, and I can't get it to come back to the boats unless I either reboot or restart the mission... Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Axeman, when that happens and the camera gets all screwy ALT + Tab to minimize SH3 and then re-enter it. Sometimes that seems to work for me.

Otherwise... the goofy camera bug is so-far un-fixable.

I need to know the altered settings in the file so i can change them in mine if possible please, I don't yet want to install the 1.4 patch.
