Its just Tripod. No doubt it does mainly cater to neo-nazi types - cause let's face it, most people in the world are not history buffs and could care less about any music from WWII Germany, or France for that matter.

The America I grew up in once believed (still does supposedly) that people should be allowed to believe anything, read anything, and display anything that they want (with in reason). The idea was also that TRUTH has nothing to fear from facts or ideas of any type.
So growing up those who considered themselves well read were expected to have read Mein Kampf, along with anything else available from Nazi Germany. Also that would include Communist dogmas and about anything else under the sun.

I know many Americans view the fact the Germany today does not allow Nazi emblems in such things as games to be the same thing as tyrany - MIND CONTROL - no different than something Hitler might create.

If the Germans can't handle Nazi dogma today, it would either mean that the said dogma was somehow true and must thus be hidden lest it overwhelm the German people, or it would mean that the Nazi dogma is BS, but that the German populous lacks common sense and are like children who must be led around by the nose.

I am part Native American - a term I hate because it is politically correct - and thus I refer to myself as an 'INJUN'. Nothing gives dogmas or words more power than FEAR of them. Like '******'. Yeah, I can use that term since in the school I attended of 700 white boys I was often called ******. Its how I learned to fight. But you European pussy-whips seem never to understand that you can't legislate common sense. Your people will only learn to see through crapy dogma if they are allowed to learn it and get past it.

Do you remember getting picked on by other boys in your neighborhood? Would your mother coming out to PROTECT you have made things BETTER? Or worse? The European ostrich needs to get its head out of the sand. That said, I think the biggest factor in all this is that the Russians have vowed to intervene if Nazism is "revived" in Germany. Public display of the Nazi paraphernalia during the Cold War could concieveably have been justification for the Soviets to invade.
Nowadays though, with the Wall gone and the Warsaw Pact a fading memory, that probably isn't too likely. And before the flames begin, I'm not advocating the public display of said items. But this sickening political correctness we now have desperately needs to be put to bed...

i found your remarks on how "political correctness" is handled in Europe - or better in Germany - right on the point. Hiding or forbidding symbols alone is not the way to live with the past. It is more a forced forgetting or a hiding of unpleasant times. It is probably no good idea to forbid the Swastika, but then we would probably see it often during politically right or national demonstrations. Perhaps some people would wake up then. But i fear the time to really deal with it is gone - most of the old Nazis that really were responsible for atrocities die away (after they had a successfull career in Germany after the war, often supported by other western countries because they were anti-communism).
De-nazification in Germany was done like cultivating sugar beets - pull out the small ones so the rest will grow bigger :stare:

I 100% agree, am not sayin nazism is right & good, in fact I strongly am opposed to facism 100%. But if you cover up your past histroy then as you so perfectly stated, you are doomed to repeat it. For example in the US, do you see us trying to cover up slavery, no, not at all. In fact we are constently reminded of it, aka black history month, martin luther king Jr. day, it all started out of the fire of slavery. And the push for equal rights, as for the people who want thier slavery repreastions, i dont see how that will ever happen, since the ones who should be gettin it, are over 100yrs dead. I was very confused in 1983 when I met Peter (a one time Panther) he and I worked together several years and he helped me to see many things that were hidden within myself. He was well read and seemed to know history like the back of his hand. He showed me that the American society had actually brought me to the point of hating my own race and my Injuness. the problem Sailor Steve is that they did man those guns, as in the case of the sinking of the Royal Sceptre by a U-boat gun (of U-48)crew while waves were washing over the decks (The Sea Wolves, by Wolfgang Frank, page 28). I realize the modern US navy has become quite P*ssy since they have not had to fight a real war against a real enemy (who can actually face them with modern weapons and ships) since WWII.

When I was young in the Forest Service, we had to put out fires in sometimes impossible conditions. WHe I worked for a road crew right out of high school back in the early 70s, we again had some impossible conditions to work in (back then white American actually could work and didn't depend on Mexicans to do all their manly work). I used to climb mountains in the Cascades and B.C. - even during some bad storms. Somehow a man with balls just finds a way to GET THE JOB DONE. That was the moto of WWII - GET THE JOB DONE. BUt today, the latchkey-generation has the motto - WE'RE WORKING ON IT. Big difference. I guess the guys of my period had a different attitude because we grew up with our daddys working and our moms at home.

If you represent our navy personel, I hope we never get into a REAL SHOOTING war that requires our navy!
