Excellent! Thanks for this.
Have you thought about adding the bit Wulfman suggested about taking the Hurricane's bombs away? All that Hurricanes should do in 1939-40 is strafe your bridge. They didn't carry bombs until 1941.

Actually they would never have carried bombs on sea patrols. The ones that did carry them were for ground support in North Africa and later in Burma.
I removed them altogether. My choice not saying what other may choose as there should be some coastal command planes to replace them. However, few were actaully used early and since the Cats and Suds take the big role later it, IMO, works out historically.

Thanks for the mod.
The sim files are the stock or Jace's airpower files?
This mod changes others things than the max velocity?
Greetings,
Rubini.
Rubini,
I have used from Jace's airpower mod - did not change anything from his mod (expect speed obviously)
I have used Wulfmanns advise and decreased the speed by about 10% for the Hurri. Hopefully that was the right outcome.
Regards
Shelton.
How does it play out? Is there a noticable difference between detection time and the aircraft attacking and is it a lot?
sdcruz,
Is't possible to do this for the stock sim files too?
Thanks,
Rubini.

@sdcruz... whew, I'm glad you said that... :yep: ...
I've been layin off using this low-speed mod because of possible conflict with the Airpower mod... did not want to give up the reduced ranges and aircraft sorties

Yes I can do this for the stock sim mod as well - wont be able for about till the weekend.
Do you play with the stock sim?
Regards
Shelton.
Egan
Best answer would be to try it out - early indications on my testing seems to give you more realistic reaction times, esp when your at 256, 512 TC
Hope people provide feedback!

Shelton.
sdcruz,
I would like to have your stock mod because for the traffic standalone version (not RUb) I use the late war air attacks on ports and this is not compatible with the B24's sim file of Jace's Airpower (about dive bomb behaviour). So I think that it's only necessary for B24's sim file. I expect that soon we will have a clone airplanes, so, this will be not a problem in near future. ;)
I'm awaiting. Thanks again,
Rubini.
Hi Rubini
So you want the B24 one - the very original that came with the sim - if so then I can do it tonight and send it to you - I am in australia.
Regards
Shelton.
Yes, the original one but mod by you. :know:
Rubini.
Rubini,
Here is the mod of the B24 from the *stock* game file. I have reduced the speed to 390Km/h.
Let me know if you notice the difference.

Shelton.

Wulfmann,
What file and strings did you look at to take the bombs away from the Hurri?
Thanks
Shelton.
Thanks sdcruz,
I will take a look in today.
Feedback soon!

Wulfmann,

From another thread I aswered:
I changed the cfg by eliminating the bombs then opened the the eqp file by adding .txt to the end of the file name so I could see it in notepad then removed the bombs and replaced them with null. I also changed the ge and en logs to show no bombs.
When done I delete the .txt I added to the eqp
This is required when adjusting any loads for any planes
Or, PM an email add and I will send you the Cane and Ju87 corrected, as I have had them for over 100 patrols with no trouble.
Wulfmann
Ok sweet - thanks for the info - Linux simply opens those files in a notepad like application so I can edit the values.
Thanks again
Regards
Shelton.
Got it but haven't seenplanes in my campaign yet. Will let you know.
Here's some of the data I have:
Hurricane MkI: 410 KmH at sealevel and max speed of 508KmH at 5300m. (Weapons and Warfare: volume 13 pp1385-1390).

Wow, you copyrighted it? That had to set you back a few hundred dollars.
LOL a few hundred beers
- thanks for the hurri stat at sea level - may do an update if anyone is interested.

well, imho there is something very wrong with the airattack routine after the recent patch. im using these files with jace11´s airpower 1.4c.
i started a career in early 41, and got attacked 4 days into first patrol, with almost fatal dmg. returned to base.
second patrol almost the same i unloaded all my torps into a convoy, and on my return leg, i got again bounced, with considerable damage.
third patrol around the canary islands. got there without being harmed, but after 2 days of patroling i got again jumped by aircraft. they missed thist time. i relocated further to the south, but 2 days later, i got again attacked by aircraft, and received a fatal load directly ontop of me. dead.
i never had time to dive before they unloaded, altho i have the tc set to 0 at the cfg files incase of aircraft spotted. it was always the same setup. two catalinas, and it was always good wather, with good visibilty.
its april to july 41. am i doing something wrong? i played around 60 patrols before the recent patch, and i just stated to play again. appart from the odd high numbers of aircraft in each flight, i never thought that the airthread was out of place, but now it feels all weird.
