I just got one of those earliest radars now! :88)

But.. I am unable to use it manually, other than turning it on and off. I want to be able to rotate the wheel (if only to rotate within the 20 degree arc). The wheel in fact rotates constantly by itself, even when I'm sitting in the radar-seat (pressing R).

Also, what is Continuous and Focus?
Manual is very bad at xplaining

Hello!
If you have the first one, it was mounted directly on the tower.
You can see this plates on the front of the tower.

Radar was working in that angle they where mounted in. To increase that cover-angle you just had to turn the boat.

Latrer radarversions had a rotating device, making it possible to cover 360 degrees.

So if you have the first one, It shouldn't work trying to "rotate" the radar.

Maybe this was the problem?
:hmm:

No, I found the hitherto UNDOCUMENTED function. I had to turn the "continous/focus" to "focus" before I could turn the wheel.

Also, when I have the radar aimed at a direction where there IS a ship, I get NO visual reading on the radar. I assume we're supposed to get some kind of a zigzag pattern. Obviously it is not functioning. Can someone patch this, or mod it?

Oh that's an old bug...the radar is 180deg reversed so a shp at 90 is actually at 270...so if you see a ship at 270 you have to point the radar at 90.
