What a bunch of old people. computers in rest homes. just turned 26 july 3rd, its nice people are starting to take me seriously. go figure. for the first time in my life i cant wait till i am 30. i bet most you wish you where 30 too. heh.
My first pc games where
Doom2, Descent, Altima 5.
Most recent.
Doom3, Crimson Skies, SH3, BF2 is nice too.
My first PC game was F119 Stealth Fighter (the developer got the designation wrong, because the stealth fighter was still top secret), by Microprose. It was in four colors, and I thought that I had the greatest machine that had ever been made.
Actually, I don't wish I was 30, because my thirties were my worst years, from the standpoint of finances and health. At 59, I can run a 4.2 second 40-meter dash, and 1:29 minutes on a 440 meter run. Several bank accounts, real estate, stocks, bonds, securities, and other assets make my 50's the best!

O LOL. I belong to the 1975-1985 period, but I've never seen any MTV programme. :)
And here in Poland people often use another timetable, that I personally greatly dislike: 1978-2005 is called "JPII generation" (JPII - pope John Paul II) and the current one is "B16 generation" (the last one being quite funny in my opinion).

I'm 26 and have only been playing SHIII for about a week, having previously spent all my time in flight sims. Still trying to get used to the much slower nature of the game as opposed to jumping in a Spit and gunning through the skies!

Oh, yeah; waiting for days instead of an hour for something to happen makes a big difference.

1979 places me into the "MTV Generation" - strange... i never really cared much for MTV! (and i hate it now)
these poll results are interesting... notice that no single age group holds a particularly commandinglead over any other age group in this poll... almost completely equal numbers all across the board and in a community this size the gaps do not represent a very large number.

54 and not gonna get much older. I've sworn off birthdays. And while I've never served on a U-boat, I think I deserve a pension from the German Government, betwwen flying in BF-109's in IL-2, Blitzkrieg I&II, Silent Hunter III, East Front II, Company of Heroes:Opposing Forces, Aces of the Deep (god what a nightmare, but I still love it, although I can't play it), and many more...As a kid I defeated Russia in Blitzkrieg (the Avalon Hill Board Game), struggled through Advanced Squad Learder Cross Of Iron, even fought my way through Castle Wolfenstein...and many, many more.
I don't know what my attraction is to WWII Germany is, just as I don't know what or why my attraction to the Civil War South is, history is history, a story told mostly by the winners, but the losers have a story also, and they are usually not filled with devils and demons and evil beings, but people caught in a moment of time.
For every simulation I've played I read dozens of books, (okay I was a history freak before I was a game freak), I've read more books on Stalingrad than I've read newspaper articles about George W and the War in Iraq.
Because we will not know the truth about Iraq for at least 20 years, we may have a glimpse of the truth but its all crap, until the losers tell there side of the story and we don't know who the losers are yet.
So I grew up in the 60's as a fan of Roosevelt and Churchill, a lot of reading later and I know things aren't so black and white.
I'm not a Nazi, a Commie, or a Capitalist, just a a bozo trying to figure out what we have allowed people to do to us.

59 in April and becoming younger. Never was a teenager. Got married when I was 48, became a father for the first time 2 years later when my first and, hopefully, last wife bore me a son; we then had a daughter one year after that, and another daughter is due this May.
Don't know how I find the time to play computer games!

Here's another old f**t. Turning 53 this year and this year will move on to career number three after seven-years in the private sector back in the seventies followed by almost 28-years of Army service. Just me and the wife now (33-years together counting living-in-sin time). Love history and ships; have been wargaming since 1967 and on computers from the C-64 era.

To all the youngsters out there, the problem is not being older than dirt, it`s being under it you have to avoid. :D

Turned 55 in Jan I guess that puts me in the "Beat" generation. Speaking of, Operation Drumbeat should be starting soon, time to upgrade to a type IX. Anyone remember the old arcade game where you would look into a periscope and fire torps at a line of ships in the distance? I guess I'm too old!:smug:

43 going on 15 - at least if you ask my wife ;) The poor lady isn't entirely sure how to take all this new-fangled Kaleun business however; first it was nothing but IL-2 for a couple of years and now this! Yeah, I of course bore her to death with my constant rambling of all things simulator-related
43 in march.
have been confounded, irritated, disalusioned by and hung on in there with sh3gwx2...oh, and have huge fun too, when it all comes together.
