Hi,

I used SH3 Inspector and in fact there are 11 torpedos, this one is called "T-7 [G7ut] Steinbarsch Walter". I need to try to add this entry on the Basic.cfg to see if it became available. I tried a search on Google but I couldn't find any references to this name.

I found something a while ago, the ut means H202 propulsion. Its just a Walter torp.. for the XXI probably.

After consulting my bookshelf:

Historically the G7es TXI (aka Zaunkonig II) did exist of course. So nothing mysterious about that ;-)

Only the performance data looks more like the experimental Ingolin torpedos with Walter rocket engines. The 750 mm version did (atleast on paper) 9500 meters at 45 knots. Or like the G7u(t), which had versions that did as good as 10000m at 44 knots or 9000 at 50 knots

80 km range (!)

Looks like the webmaster made a litle typo.

That sould be 80 hm (hectometer). Which is 80 * 100 = 8000 meters.

Typo?

There seem to be a few typos then cause the other sites say exactly the same or even longer range..

I suspect that maybe the propulsion type is highly efficient.

Many sites just copy eachother.

Torpedo going 80 kilometers far ?, just a waste of resources.

Believe it or not :D

Hello,
Err, sorry the fuel for the Walter drive was called "Perhydrol", not "Ingolin". The latter one was rocket fuel.

edit: Oops, Ingolin was also used in the Walther AIP drive.

There are 3 accoustic torpedoes in game:

TIV
TV
TXI

I had used the latest one later on war with a XXI (available on little numbers however), not a mistery.

You can find info of it at uboat.net

hmmm, about TVII I think I remember it, maybe LuTIII, I will check it later
