As reported rapid share no longer has this, i've checked at the usual resources U-Boot-Realsimulation etc. No luck :(

Church's last post was on March 15th so that was over a month ago.

Looks like your only hope will be if someone else has the skin and they repost it.

As for that I am not sure. I used the stock skin that came with the sim as a base to work from, and that had rivets as part of the skin.

I'll look into it and if it turns out that in fact that pressure hulls on the VII's didn't have them, I will remove them. Thanks for the heads up.


In Edwin Hoyt's book U-Boats Offshore the author recounts the words of a seaman who went over the side after the Oregon was attacked at close range by an U-Boat off new Jersey.

The seaman said the sub came so close to him that it appeared to be trying to run him down....he observed: I came close enough to see that the hull was welded, not riveted.

At best, anecdotal evidence, to be sure. However there are two U-Boats on display, one in Chicago and another in Kiel. Surely someone one this board has seen one or the other and can provide a definitive answer.
