View Full Version : Replicating early 1940 VIIC

Hey there! Was wondering how one would go about adding a net cutter to the hull of a 7c? Goal is to replicate the early versions of the 7c, in which they had a net cutter, as well as no wave deflectors on the top of the turm. I’m using latest version of OneAlex and the 7c turms already lake the wave deflectors on default, just wondering how to add net cutters.

I propose to make such a cabin without a deflector with cables and a cutter for networks in a 3D editor.

Thank you! I noticed on the model that the spray deflector on the middle of the turm is missing, is it possibly to edit that in, would I be able to copy paste that from other models?

Yes it is! Anvar was able to make a very good model! I just need to add the splash deflector on the middle of the turm, oddly doesn’t show up for me, just a shadow of where it should be, the missing wind deflector on the top of the turm is correct.

I couldn't find a few parts. Either the top and middle deflectors or none. And the rear cable racks are missing.

It’s all good! It’s very good work nonetheless, I can fiddle around with it as well, get some practice in on S3D. Another question though, is it possible to just have the forward cable and net cutter?

There is no such blank either. There is a complicated way using Blander or 3DS Max

Very nice work! Tested it out looks very good, was wondering would you know how to get the texture for the splash deflector to be uniform? I seem to be getting some black parts?

I think this is happening because of the AO (Ambient Occlusion) map

One could just paint the AO map in a paint program and not Re-UV things.

Ah gotcha, I think I got myself confused with something else, as I did do some painting on the main texture map in GIMP, that would have been the ao then. Right then it’s just a matter of painting the right thing.

Export the 3D mesh and AO image, open in any 3D program and check the UV map compared to the AO image. Then just do a touch up on the image itself. Then reimport the image. 5 minute job at most.

Sadly wasn’t able to upload the texture map for the mod, might be too big?
However! I may have found a solution, I changed the texture map from the main one, to one just for the splash deflector, it seems to be working, no black spots at all.
