SH3 type career mod?

Hello all,

I was wondering if there is a mod that can allow for a SH3 type career in UBOAT? SH3 is too crashy and I packed it in a few years ago, however once the Type IX comes out for this game I want to get into this game.

The only thing is that I don't really like the limiting career options in game (e.g. only picking a few U Boats, at specific times of the war). I loved the aspect of SH3 where you could start at any time (especially with SH3 Commander etc) of the war and experience a more realistic career.

The selection of dfifferent uboats at the start of the campaign basically serves as a selectable starting point. We have U-4 and U-46 (start of ww2), a Type IID in late 1940, U-96 (mid-war, of course) and a VIIC/41 with late war starting point.


What we dont have right now is the "realistic career length" option we had in SH3 commander.
Also, until you earn a few reputation points and can increase your maximum officers, your boat will feel a bit undercrewed.


Should you not want to earn ship upgrade points (going from IIA to IID requires 100k GRT to be sunk) to get another boat mid-campaign, there is a workaround for that.


Use a console mod (https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3257022304)to enable console options, activate it in-game and type ShipUpgradePoints=1 in it. Then just select the desired boat in the upgrade menu.
