(poorly named thread title and I don't know how to edit - should read Help Patching GoG version of Dangerous Waters (Win 10)...)

I bought Dangerous Waters from GoG and it works out of the box on Windows 10, but the version in the GoG client says 1.01 and I want to make sure I'm on version 1.04. The dangerouswaters.exe details says the file version is 0.1.0.4 which is awfully close to 1.0.4, but the 0 at the front is confusing - not sure if that is the same as 1.0.4?

I downloaded the 1.04 patch and it keeps saying dangerous waters is not installed on my machine so I can't run the installation .exe for it. I moved it to my game folder, I updated the registry path to point to the correct location - still nothing. I can't run the patch installer.

Does anyone know if the GoG version of DW is already 1.0.4 (even though it says different in the client) and if the 0.1.0.4 version in the details of the dangerouswaters.exe does mean 1.0.4? Otherwise, has anyone solved this "Dangerous Waters is not installed on this machine" error when trying to install patch 1.0.4?

nevermind. When I start the game it says version is "104" at the bottom when I hit play, so I guess it's 1.0.4.

Glad it works, Klem,

Yeah, Gog's version has been the most stable for me (On Win 11)

I have RA on top of the Gog version - got some bugs (OH Perry and some subs don't work - either properly at all) but at least it kind of works.

I was thinking of installing RA, good to know about the bugs. Haven't played DW/Sub Command etc. in many years, but got tired of waiting for Modern Naval Warfare and need my fix :D
