And my father would only give me four quarters to spend in the entire arcade. That was back in 1968.

Then my brother and I would play Sub Search. This was essentially a 3D version of Battleship.

Thanks! It also gives you the skill-set of simply aiming your U-boat at approx. 1000-500 yards(submrged), perpendicular to the target(single or in convoy) without using a TDC. A mere 1⁰-2⁰ angle adjustment in the vessel's direction as it passes your 0'd scope's cross hairs delivers the torpex to target. In a large multi-column convoy even a miss will often hit another column's vessel. At night, steam eels, set on high speed, nearly always hit. When passing thru the first column of stricken vessels to use the convoy as 'cover' from escorts, and use the rear tube for a 5th target even as your bow tubes are being reloaded; be mindful of the rhe eel's 300-yard arming distance. As the reduced. convoy moves on, surface at 1000-2000 carefully(some cargo ships have guns) yards and finish any burning cripples with the deckgun....as per 'Silent' Otto's maxim "one ship, one eel". Worked fabulously in SHV!:yeah::arrgh!:
