In my lifetime Sydney's become very much an East Asian city, which is actually in my experience not necessarily a bad thing. I just wish they'd go the whole hog and turf out our minorities dominated mega woke city council that have been in power for the last, almost 40 !!!! years.

Anyway.....Cosplay's VERY big down here and there's heaps of very attractive young Aussie/asian ( eurasian?? ) girls getting around in costumes like these, and they look fabulous !!!:o :yeah: :arrgh!: Not good for an old man like me :wah: I've had a couple of chinese girlfriends over the years and found them to be very passionate :arrgh!: :yeah: Now I'm an old dude.....:wah::wah:

"The First Take" is a youtube channel you can go on and belt out a song with no rehearsal, only one take. A lot of well known singers ( the world's a big place ) have appeared on it.

Someone I haven't seen posted here in a while is Peter Gabriel. As most know, Peter had been the front man for Genesis when Phil Collins was still behind the drum set. The incredible syncopated rhythm in the song-Red Rain is provided by bassist Tony Levin and drummer Jerry Marotta playing the percussive beats and Stewart Copeland of the Police providing the steady back beat. What an awesome piece of music and example of great Musicianship. I have often wondered what was going on in Peter's life or what his thoughts were as he wrote this epic piece of Music.

Peter Gabriel really created a masterpiece. Why doesn't anyone make music like this anymore ?

I saw a cool video a few months ago. A ten year old kid asked to play with a band at a Venue holding up a sign. The lead singer repeatedly asked Jake if he could play and Jake replied that he could. The band took a chance and Jake joined the band to play. The lead singer and band were initially in shock at Jake's Guitar playing prowess. Then, they just jammed with Jake. The guys in the band are good natured and have a good heart letting Jake play with them. Jake knew the song and the band was able to make the changes with Jake as he played along.

Thanks Jim. I was stunned when I saw Jake play and have the stage presence he has. I wish I would have had a fraction of this kid Jake's talent then. Then again, It seems lots of kids today have a gift and ear for music. As a follow up. It's seems Jake's dad was instrumental in introducing Jake to music at a very early age. It used to air on Cartoon Network's "Adult Swim" late at night and was, at least when I watched in Japanese with English subtitles. An instance when a cover of a song way beat the original...

Burt Bacharach and Hal David, a top songwriting team in 1965, were commissioned to write music for the soundtrack of a Woody Allen film, What's New Pussycat?; the title song went on to be a big hit for Tom Jones, but another song for the film did not make a mark; the Manfred Mann band was brought into a studio by Bacharach and were to record a song Bacharach thought was going to be a hit; the session was long and laborious due to Bacharach, a perfectionist extreme, insisting on many retakes until he thought it was perfect; the song was released as a Manfred Mann single and died the death; it never even reached the Top 100 on the Billboard Charts, only hitting #124; Bacharach tried to blame Manfred Mann for the flop, but that was a hard sell since Bacharach had full control over the session and the musicians; here is the Burt Bacharach version of the song:
