Hi all,


I just bought UBOAT on sale today and I can't even play it. It keeps crashing whenever it is loading. I get all the way through to customizing the Commander and then crashes during the loading screen after about 5 or 6 seconds.

Anyone else run into this? I'm going to go back to Steam forums and see if I missed anything about this.


edit.....


I disabled Bitdefender and tried again. It got through the cut scenes which I didn't know existed and then when trying to load crashed again.

11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-11800H @ 2.30GHz 2.30 GHz
16GB RAM
Nvidia Geforce RTX 3070
1TB SSD
Realtek Sound

Change the screen refresh rate and see what happens. Or try V-Sync.

Thanks. The 1st link gave me a clue. I ended up reinstalling the game and then set the refresh rate to 60 and that seemed to fix the issue.


Now all i have to do is figure out WTF I'm doing. :haha:

A good point to start are the tutorials and the 200 pages game manual (the manual is only accesible ingame playing the unstable beta in the upper right menu / uboatopedia)

I was looking for a manual. People on steam said there wasn't one. So I'll take a look. They say there is a compass in the UI but I don't see one. I read that there is a mod for one and then they say that the dev finally put one in game, but I haven't seen one.

The manual and the official compass ( and the new Torpedo computer and more stuff ) are only available in the beta unstable version of the game.


The compass mod is available in the last stable version.

Ah. That explains why I don't see one. :03: I'll have to find a compass mod.
