This is not really a mod question, but I have no idea where else to ask..

Is there a (not extremely hard) way to import SH4 models into Unreal Engine?

I'd like to make some historical videos, which of course needs to be fully scripted. UE is free, so I'd like to use that, but I'm trying to figure out where to get the models from, and SH4 is one option..

Any suggestions/help welcome!

It will be a bit of a complicated mess, but is probably do-able. You would open the assets "*.dat" file with skwasker's Silent3Ditor (https://www.subsim.com/radioroom/downloads.php?do=file&id=4489) app, and "Export" all of the 3D parts in that file, of which there are often quite a few. Plus, you would need any of the weapons, most of which are found in the Library folder.

Thanks! I don't know whether it'd pass the IP laws, but it'd be great if there was a model library. TBH, I'd be even willing to pay for the models (if it wasn't arm and leg.. ) if they worked out of the box..

It worked (so far), I've successfully got skinned Mk14 with props turning running in UE5 (as a simple test).

One question though - does anyone know what units S3D exports the 3D models in? UE5 has base unit 1cm, and if I keep the units the same, you need a magnifying lens to see the model :D

I tried a multiplier of 100, but it still seems a bit small (Mk14 was 6.25m, I don't think the model looks like that..)
