British Sub mega Mod!

This mod brings the great work of Lurker and JapLance together in one download . This also includes the British Klaxon mod created by Karl Heinrich and the British Speech mod I created (their work is untouched and is simply contained in Mod download for ease of install).

The British Speech mod was created using Nakreet, an A.I. online voice app and then another app to convert the MP4 files to .OOG

Use a fresh install of the game for these mods.

Install the JGSME app.Make sure you have a MODS folder in your install.


Place mod folders in MODS directory (created by JGSME) Install just the folders contained in the zip files and NOT the zip files.

Install order

1 - WDAD_v100
2 - WDAD_V100_Patch1
3 - WDAD_V100_Patch K
4 - WDAD AI Italian Sub Adua v1.1
5 - WDAD HMS Triton Refit 1.1
6 - WDAD missions 1940
7 - MedCampaign 2.5 release
7 - British Speech Mod (this mod may take a while be patient)
8 - SH4 British Dive Klaxon

I have tried installing the pack, but am having great difficulty.

I am doing the following:

The game boots fine, and I see the new splash screen, but after the bar loads fully I get a long string of near-endless errors reporting missing files. Once I get to the end of these, the game closes.

When you unzip the "We_Dive_at_Dawn25x" file, did you also go into that folder and unzip the additional six files?

Yes I have unzipped the additional six files within "We_Dive_at_Dawn25x" to reveal:

I've tried installing with JSGME and manual; both methods produce the same fault.

I did agree for each mod to overwrite the files when doing it manually, taking care to install each mod on the correct order as instructed. JSGME says that some files have already been altered by X mod, however installing in the correct order, particularly with the patch files, shouldn't produce this issue?

There are more but I think this spells out the general gist - the installation of these mods, even in the correct order, are disposing of various essential files?

I tried to verify the files using Steam, but this seems to just remove all the mods that have been installed, returning it to the base game stating "10783 files failed to validate and will be reacquired." which tells me the mod install deletes essential files! Frustrating!

@Notorious A.L.B the Steam version...I don't use this version...I don't recommend it...
I use patch 4go and not Large Address Aware...Multi sh4 for several installs..:hmmm::hmmm:

Which version of the Steam game are you using? "Silent Hunter: Wolves of the Pacific" is basically v1.3 of the game, while the "U-Boat Missions Add-On" is v1.5 of the game - which is what you need to run this package... That "File not found: data/menu/data/black80.tga" is the 'clue' to your issue, and mean you are not using the proper game start... :salute:

Thanks for the update of this great Mod who deserved clearly a good update. The only RN mod for SH4. That's really nice to have regroup all the work that have been made for it. and the speech pack is the cherry on the cake. Top job! :Kaleun_Salute:

I come with a little stone for this up to date WDAD, with my uniform crew set. I'm waiting for the upload access to add it to this great mod.

That speech app sounds fascinating. Out of curiosity how many variants are there to the voices? I have family from England/Northern Ireland and it would be really awesome if, say some of the voices are regional - like one that is "Scouse", a Cockney voice, a Scots voice, a "Posh British" voice....lol. Just like how in American war movies you have the Southerner, the Brooklyn boy, the Midwesterner, Bostonian, etc etc.

Anyhow, will like this a lot! At least when I get time to play. :haha:

Amazing work you put in this mod. Very impressed! I could perhaps help you on this noble task. I've reworked with my friend Von Dos, some German units of WWI. excellent models from JSH (Moltke, Bayern, König and Helgoland)
Let me know by PM if you could be interested (with JSH agreement) by those units.

I just downloaded and tested it, it would be nice if we can conduct raids or attacks on the Italian fleet.

I unfortunately drove fully into the net lock in Taranto ----- the port was empty except for one freighter

that DD sinking looks a lot like the Silent Mary in Pirates of the Caribbean 5.
when she was attacking another ship, the bow would articulate up in a sort-of jawbone type of profile.

For #1. To do the "zoom", try the <Tab> key. There is a "SH4_Q-Ref_Card_Front.jpg" file in the root folder of the game, and that will have the key assignments on it.

For #2. Were you harbor raiding by chance? That particular phenomenon happens all of the time with the XX_HarborTraffic files in almost all mods AND stock. The problem being that they call for a new ship to spawn every 900 or more hours... The previous ship(s) do(es) not get deleted, so you end up with two, three or four or more ships all sitting in the same spot. If the wind blows any, you might end up with them "splayed" sideways and showing all of the ships. Sometimes, whether you torpedo them, or the "wind" drift does it, they might damage each other, and then catch fire, explode and sink... There have been cases of multiple "groupings" of ships in some mods, but I didn't think any of that happened in lurker's work... :salute:

No I wasn't real close to a harbor and the ship was all by it's lonesome after I sank the other two way out in the bay. I hear what you are saying, I've run into norfolk on another mod and had ships criscrossed in some mutant ship genetics LOL

This looks really interesting and I am looking forward to trying this out. I must ask though, are there any plans to create a pacific campaign for the British boats?

(I'd also be interesting in finding a mod that looks at the Dutch boats during the Java Sea campaign.... And... You don't hear much about them, but I would expect there were also Australian submarines too..... But this is one aspect I am completely ignorant about...)

Okay Here's the deal, The attack periscope doesn't zoom, nor does the third person view outside the ship. But just tried the same thing in We Dive at Dawn. Same issues. Attack periscope and outside view don't zoom. Observation scope in both does zoom. Is this standard for British subs? Or just an oversight in the mods themselves?
The attack scope only has one zoom:
"U class boats had an 8 in (200 mm) bifocal periscope with high/low magnification for searching and a 6 in (150 mm) low magnification periscope for attack."

Hi,
I have been firing all day, expending all of my shells at a small Italian freighter and though it catches fire, it doesn't slow down or sink. Also the AP doesn't zoom in. So far the Modders have work to do. Otherwise I like the setting in the Mediterranean!

Any plans for an expansion into British subs in SE Asia and elsewhere such as North Sea or is that already part of it?

Loved the British speech mod, important for immersion as well as the British dive claxon. Curious, with the speech, could make it where when battle stations are called, they call "Action Stations", just some authenticity for immersion purposes, just a suggestion.

Any idea about EAX Sound Sim by Vickers for compatibility? Really does change the whole experience.

Thanks for the work, look forward to trying this out.

The original mod covers the SE Asia. That was the original WDAD mod. You just need to not load the Mediterranean Campaign.

delete your Save Folder.
it probably has leftover files/folders from the last mod-set you were playing and they do not play well with WDAD.

but I am the author the T class model used in it, I made it for GWX 2.0 back in 2006, when i was still learning 3d, so yeah, it looking abit tatty now. despite somes ones stella efforts on massivley improving the textures :)
Anyway, for what its worth - I did create new and better 3d Models for T Class and S class NPC Subs in GWX Knight Cross, (with use as player boats in mind)

if you are attempting to continue a career, then remove everything except these two folders:

\Documents\WDA\data\cfg\RichSavedGames
\Documents\WDA\data\cfg\SaveGames

if you are starting a new career, it is faster/easier to delete everything under \data.

SH4 will create everything that it needs at the next app launch except for your game options. you will set those.

I saw this mod thanks to one of Taff's videos (love me some Taff In Exile), but when I tried booting it up, its not working. I'm using a fresh install for SH4 with U-Boat Missions downloaded, and LAA enabled, I see the new splash screen, have everything enabled according to the load order, but when the bar gets full, I get the same errors.

After that series of errors, in that order, its a CTD. At this point I am being driven insane. What in the [TORPEDO LOS] am I doing wrong, here?! Did I not install it correctly, is there a missing file, WHAT IS GOING ON?!:k_confused:

(Anyone) Please feel free to port those models across from KC to this mod if desired, Id love to see them made playable. :)

I had a couple conversions of World of Warships models I was working on to no avail, just crashing somewhere I'm not sure how to dig up.
But, these seem much more viable as the models are already present and loaded into the proper file sets basically...:hmmm:

Maybe the Wow Model was too high vert count? (therory) I know you can work around S3ds vert limits per node -by breaking a model down in to parts. However I think there is a ceiling for vert counts for the SH3 engine and by extention probably SH4 to, since its a derivative.


-In KC we were forced to abandon the aft Diesel room interiors for the 7c's, which was maybe close to a million polys + its many animations not so high for modern standards but for a 20 year old game engine, a whole lot of nope. Kept getting CTD's on late war career starts. Another one was AlexBs Aquatania, lovley model - but it just proved to be too much.
