Can the periscope view be changed.

I have had 'Cold Waters' for a while but, after installing the 'Dot Mod' it seem to make the game more interesting. I've play Silent Hunter Four for years. To my question. Can the periscope view be changed from heading that the boat travels to bearing from which sonar operators call out to the contact?
