Hi everyone,

i'm glad to release this new mod: Bismarck class battleship :

This is the sixth of a serie of units for Kriegsmarine, reworked in collaboration with flush deck.

Based on GWX Development Team's Bismarck battleship, 3d model updated using SHV parts and a lot of details (oblos, stairs, cables, lifeboats, glass windows\interiors, turning radars\rangefinders...).

If you've also LBSArado in your Data\German\Air\Roster, you can add scout planes to this battleship adding those lines:

[AirGroup 1]
StartDate=19380101
EndDate=19410527
Squadron1Class=LBSArado
Squadron1No=1

to NBB_Bismark.cfg;

Library new version with reworked and improved textures, this will improve also other Vd Kriegsmarine ships' gun.

There is one caveat. Stock SH3 contains a different deck texture. This should be taken into account.

About different deck tga with same name, yes, i've it too in the textures subfolder. Well, it doesn't seem to create any problem. Maybe the fastest idea is just delete the "stock" file? Or is it needed for something?

The problem is that these textures replace the existing ones with a certain algorithm.

It is best to place the new ones in the appropriate replacement folders without deleting the original ones.

Well, this will require to place another "big" texture in the textures folder.
In order to save memory, what if i just rename NBB_BismarkC into the dat, for example, as NBB_BismarkD ? Shouldn't this broke the bond?

This will not make the "big" texture smaller, but it can be removed from the .dat file.

I like the big texture as it is into the dat, flush deck made a great work, as always.
I've reuploaded the mod with renamed texture, just in case, in order to avoid any problem with stock file :up:

Yes, my model is 0% related with Onealex's one.
Just a question: what is the ship in the picture? Maybe my model installed over Onealex's one? :doh:

EDIT: Maybe your previous Bismarck model included NBB_Bismark_T02.tga and\or NBB_Bismark_T03.tga files?
My version only need NBB_Bismark_T01.tga. If you've T02 or T03 too, please remove them.

Well, i guess a lot of modders in the years manage to create their own version of Bismarck, every one with own textures, details, skins and parts. She's a very iconic, legendary warship :yep:

But shouldnt there are the flag/swastika on the deck? or can you do a version with it?

According to Bismarck's War Diary, 13:07 hours on 22 May 1941:
"Alarm beendet. Anschliessend auf Befehl Flotte Fliegersichtzeichen auf den Türmen und Hoheitszeichen auf Back und Schanz übermalt. (trad
Alarm ended. Subsequently, by the order of Fleet the aircraft identification insignias on the turrets and the national emblems [swastikas] on the forecastle and poop deck are painted over."

When Bismark sank, the swastika was removed \ painted over, so the absence of the svastika is historically accurate. Also, some countries have problems with the use of this emblem. I know, this is an historical fact, and, also, the emblem was used centuries ago by others people, cultures and religions.
