View Full Version : [REL] GrenSo's Compass
This mod replaces the standard compass with the gyro compass and another texture of rudder dial.
The compass is based on the Russian version of TWoS 2.0.0. And as the basis for my compass, I took the files from update for TWoS 2.0.0 to 2.0.9 from 2018.
Therefore, the compass needs TWoS or TDWs NewUI 7.4 and higher to work.

To be honest I can't answer that for you. I have never played SH4 and therefore do not know the structure. It's best to ask in the forum for sh4 whether and how it's possible.

The darker version is an additional version of the compass if the light one is to light for the nights.
What lines have you changed in the code "Page layout.ry" ?
I think there will be no answer. And I know why. Because you use the codes and textures I created as your own. This is because. that you are allowed to do such things that go unpunished. Your compass will not work. It lacks compass function configuration files.

If you download "GrenSo Compass v1.1", then you will see that in the Page layout.ry script file there are my notes about the changes for TWoS.

Next, I made my own changes in this script for the compass to work. GrenSo was unable to provide me with any evidence that these changes were made by him.
I created the compass textures presented by GrenSo back in 2021 while working on previous versions of my compass. I didn't leave watermarks on the textures because they are easy to remove using Photoshop.
Let GrenSo provide irrefutable evidence of the creation of at least one of the files submitted by him.

I'm not attacking anyone. I'm just protecting my job and I hope that the brazen thief will get what he deserves.

I don't know what U-190 has, because from the pictures it's clear that the textures I use are mine.
And this function of gyrocpmpass in SH5 predates any release of U-190. I first saw this compass in a mod for TWoS in September 2019. And that was well before the year 2020. As this video proves it:

The compass video you presented has nothing to do with our problem. The compass in the video was created by another person. You have not provided any proof of your work.
P.S. Don't try to fool the local community. If the trial on SUBSIM is truly impartial, the thief should receive a life sentence in the form of deleting the account and all posts created by the thief.

So, it should be clear, that the full function of the gyro compass does not come from U-190.
And like I told in past, for GSE, and this compass ist just an decoupling of GSE: "I was inspired by some modifications like gap, Vecko, boogieman335, Bstanko6, SteelViking, TheBeast, TheDarkWraith and many others, which were partly used 1:1 and partly as a template for my own changes."

Many mod makers have used materials and ideas from other mods. It's common practice. The gentleman's agreement between us is to give and share credit.

Since I never use the new sextant, I never made the compass compatible with it. I don't think I will do it in the future either, because in my opinion it's not worth the effort and only a few games use the sextant.
At the moment I'm putting all my energy and the little time I have into GSE.
I think you should take a look at Alpheratz's mods, because they are still the best for real navigation.

I didn't know that. I thought that this compass came from Vecko and TWoS. I had only seen it for SH5 in the old version of TWoS mentioned above.
Then I have to adjust the readme and add this ones.

Incidentally, you or an user named U-190 have only been registered in KSD forum for just a little over 3 years. Long after this type of compass was created and even longer after KSD team exist.

Love the look and utility of this compass. I do have one question, when I mouse over to use it it shrinks and I can barely read it. Is this supposed to happen or did I do something wrong installing it somehow?
