Always disliked the Observation Periscope in TMO being labeled s Night Periscope. US submarines did not have a night periscope (until maybe the end) They had attack (No.2) and Observation (No.1) periscopes. Yes, the observation scope provided better sighting at night and low light conditions and does in the TMO due to different lenses i've added (eliminated the era inappropriate night time reticles, but can use the color filters mod as those were used)

Anyways, looking to restore the name of periscope to Observation Periscope , but when look in all the files for TMO, it says Observation Periscope, yet when running the sim, it says Night Periscope. I am confused as where to look and what to change. Anyone?

Get 010 and run a search. It will find it!
Stock SH4 does not have any listing for a Night Periscope.

Hi, BH.

1. in the "Data\Menu" there is a menu.txt.

2. in "Data\UPCData\UPCUnitsData", there are files named as "UnitPartsXXXX.upc" and an "Equipment.upc".

3. in "Data\UPCData\UPCLocalization" there is a "UPCLocalization.tsr".

Use text-editing software to replace all "night periscope" with "observation periscope", it will do.

(I test it in FotRSU but it should be the same in TMO :Kaleun_Wink:)
