Is there a mod compatible with GFO that makes the water more clear, when viewed using external cam? Thanks.

Look in the GFO mod folder, and see if you don't have Webster's Underwater Visability Mod (https://www.subsim.com/radioroom//downloads.php?do=file&id=1015) somewhere, or click that link for the download... :salute:
