Can someone tell me where the files are for 3D crew members? How do you edit them? Any 3D program?

CharacterBodyParts.GR2
in the Character folder.
GR2EditorViewer will open the file with a lot of error messages.
Not sure how well it will work if you edit the 3D models.
Not even sure it will export or import without problems.
Should you want an advanced way to export the models and animations?
I got that covered also.

For a full understanding of the files you can read here.

The link to download I posted includes the python script and such so no need to download from the linked forum.
You'll see that a way to not load some meshes has been requested by someone.

The Python script has been updated.
You can now filter out meshes when loading.
I set the option SKIP_MESH = 2
Then did a txt file named mesh.txt and placed it in the base folder of Noesis.
It lists:
DMG_
reflect
LNK@
Those meshes do not get loaded now.

At one time, the author of the Python script attempted auto texturing for the GR2.
He dropped that since different Games do it in different ways.
I've asked him to send me his older scripts so I can attempt to do a special version just for SH5.
If he does that and I get it to work?
We can easily export the animations and meshes with textures.
May not get them back in to SH5 but would be easy to convert for SH3/4!
Any and all Credits go to jayn23 on the xentax forum!

Well my time is severely limited with work. But I'd like to work on some new figures. I've done a lot of work in Blender but I'm not sure about the programmes you mentioned. Thanks Jeff for the links etc.

jayn23 released a new python script for Noesis.
It can now auto texture the meshes.
We need to move the textures into a folder with the wanted GR2 file but that's easy enough.
He has also added optimize mesh. A pretty nice option to keep exported meshes small.
You have to under stand how a GR2 file stores meshes to appreciate this feature.

Still working on a few issues for SH5 but it's a nice tool in our tool box!
