This Tool is said to even export Animations!
What I do know from testing is it does export a complete 3D model.

I'd suggest reading the complete thread as there are some issues I'll not get into since they are addressed there.

Hey Jeff,
no editor/importer at this time?

I realize the importance of of studying the GR2 format, and I understand that being able to export anything from it, is an important step in the knowldedge-gathering process which may lead to new tools. That said, a new editor, bug-free and more powerful than the one created by TDW, would be the real breakthrough :)

I look at it this way.
Animations in dat format work in SH5.
Just look at the Seagulls.
You could transpose the animations to SH3/SH4 or given imagination?
New stuff for SH5.

Hi Jeff, that's true :salute:

All the old animation controllers seem to work in SH5. There are some limits though. An example: DC racks keyframe animations, which in SHIII and SHIV are triggered by the release of a depth charge, in SH5 play in an endless loop.

I am trying to imagine a practical implementation of that, but probably I have not enough imagination or I am missing the knowledge required to see it. Could you be more explicit on this point, please?
