Well I got it installed, so far so good, I like how the commands are at the bottom and not at the top.

I selected a single mission to start with but I had to exit, I need to re-read the attack instructions, I was taking damage but not firing back.

I just need to get used to it but I like it very much, you did a great job on this and lots of hard work which is very much appreciated, thank you.

1) Send your crew to the weapons.


2) Wait for radar contact.

3) go to UZO (radar told you bearing where to see) and lock target "L"

Thank you once again, I wrote it down and followed your instructions.
Came in to contact with the enemy, and she fired on them, sank one cruiser then the other one.

Graphics are good too, sound is good also, I was using the Fiume, she worked well, great job on this.

sorry, I noticed now that in ARB gui 1920*1080 i left the old instructions.

These are the new ones;

1- copy your sh3.exe and paste it in the mod in "Full Map and Chrono Patch" folder.

2- launch "FullMapAndChronoPatch.bat" to patch sh3.exe

3- copy now this patched sh3.exe and overwrite the original (make a copy first)


4- then activate the mod with jsgme.

I'm surprised nobody else has commented on this, personally I like it, I play as a ship a lot on SH4 so to do it in SH3 is great.
I hope to see more ships coming soon, you have done a marvelous job on this and you deserve a lot of credit.

Seriously, I was aware that my surface mod wasn't going to be a big hit here. but it was something I wanted to do. I anticipate that version 2.0 will also have Thor (privateer ship) and the M.A.S. (torpedo boats) 😋

I've only played 3 single missions, on the first I did manage to sink the enemy but my ship was damaged, full of holes but still sailing.
After that I cheated a little I altered my armor level just to give me an edge, one ship on surface against 3 enemy heavy ships, plus I can only fire on 1 at a time.

I did notice after an enemy ship was destroyed I didn't need to go back to the UZO I could stay in the binocular and move to the next target and press the spacebar to lock on, which was good.

I mentioned the sound in my earlier post, I like the louder sound when the big guns fire their salvo, that is a nice touch.

Ah ok.
If I'm not mistaken it's a milkcow from Wac. Well, it can be left as is because no enemy ships will have contact with milkcows.

Yes I know I can only fire at one at a time, I was just saying. Funny thing though, in the last mission I did the DD went behind the cruiser and I was firing at the cruiser, but a couple of my shots hit the DD and damaged it bad almost crippling it.

How do I check the damage %?

hello anvar. I'm not crying on myself. and I don't care about comments where they tell me I'm good. Wanting to improve the mod, I was hoping that someone could point me to some improvements or changes. As I wrote on the first post, I am aware that in this forum there are submarine enthusiasts, but those 40 (as I have already said for me is a good result) who have downloaded the mod may they have nothing to say? I will communicate when version 2.0 is ready but I will send the link only to those who ask me. Having said that, I hope that those who have downloaded the mod have fun (this is a satisfaction for me).

i just play this mod now 2 days, first starting in lorient, there was overall neutral ships, now every start there no more ships in the harbor, is that correct or a bug? and is it right that i just encounter warships and BB's? no single one Merchant?

Thanks. In Lorient with which sub-mod and year? (Regia Marina-Kriegsmarine-Raider or X MAS?) In Lorient you should find other ships. Did you activated "single mission"? If so, "single mission" makes the map empty. Yes, it is correct that you only find warships and only a few merchant ships. Sinking a trader with a BB is a bit boring. No, I'm not working on it. I just help who have bugs.

alright.. but can u take a look at the other one when u get the time? With the Damage model? I take a look in and try it myself but im to stupid to understand it (silent 3ditor) and in the zone.cfg, maybe u can tell me where i need to look to editing the for the Bismarck?.

I use the kriegsmarine, i had the single mission on, i take it off and now there are ship.

Yes, it would be boring but it would also be a bit of a change if a few more traders or a convoy came right in front of my cannons :D

in that thread i posted, he get it to worked that his ship sinks and get destroyed by pressure and not when a room or like the engine get destroyed.. i mean it would be cool to see how your ship sinks if it get "destroyed" and then u get the deathscreen when it get destroyed by the pressure

and sometimes when u get a hit from a bb/cruiser. message come : "Men on deck down" and then death screen "warship destroyed" but before that all was 100% hp nothing damaged etc..

i hope you understand what i mean..

Hey hey,

i just tested the other BB got the same result, destroyed by a hit in the engine.

after that i played carreer with Bismarck and attacked a Harbor sunk some Ships but then i got a hit in my engine room and got a instant deathscreen :P

maybe i was to near on the harbor i dont know, but it's so frustrating get one killed and doesnt see the own ship sinking :(

but still this is the best warship right now out there! Maybe you get in touch with Chinese U-47 and build a Warship mod together, if you have the time, that would be so cool.

tested it, how many "flooding" in the compartment i need? cuz i got one and its just "sunk" to 12m and then was the compartment full and was destroyed by flooding

They are different mods. I would have to create a completely new mod to make it compatible but right now I don't have the time.

Ok, after playing this mod for a couple of hours yesterday, I have questions :D

1. Is the gun caliber modeled correctly? Because the impacts look a lot like the 8.8cm shells. Or is this just a visual thing?

2. Any chances to improve the speed on the Scharnhorst?(only ship I tested) I have full crew on all compartments. According to data, Scharnhorst should reach ~36 knots on full power. I just reach 25. Could you point me into a direction how to change it myself maybe? (Just for private use)

Also, do you mind if I edit the campaign file a bit (also, just for my private use)? Or may it even be possible to use the campaign files from lsh? I mean just the .rnd, .scr and maybe .lnd files, although the .lnd may not be that important for me. I just want the realistic shipping, or did you actually include the historic correct ships and events? I red above that you didnt include much merchant shipping. Does this includes big convoys?

- changed ships structures (add Fuel Tank 2)
- sink by flooding (see pics above)
- add "VD_guns.dat" (kriegsmarine)
- add new VonDos models
- fix the maximum speed of playable ships

On v 2.0 the campaign files are a mix of all the mega mods. I don't know how much they reflect history.

- changed ships structures (add Fuel Tank 2)

On v 2.0 the campaign files are a mix of all the mega mods. I don't know how much they reflect history.

The power of the weapons is set in the related guns.dat file which is linked to the shell.dat. The 28 cm therefore have the power of the 28 cm, not of the 8.8.

The surface_guns.dat Is new.

Do you mean that your boat can survive even if she has one or more compartments full of sea water ?? :hmmm:

One idea would be to make the standard u-boat's compartments undestructible (and make them very small, in the middle of the boat, and with 0 flotability), and to add all other normal compartments for a battleship. Then, the boat will sink only by flooding (as in real life). And when she has reached a certain depth (say 25 meters), the HP of the unit are decreasing until the unit is destroyed.

Else, it seems that the torpedo tubes mounted on deck are not turning, because the torpedo will always be launched in the axis of the boat, am I right ? :D

I have a brand new installation of Silent Hunter 3 (Steam Edition), i set up your mod with the 1920 x 1080 option. Every time i try to start a single mission or a Carrer my game crashes in the loading screen.

Now that the mod is up and running I've noticed that my crew doesn't seem to shoot very well, they don't really hit their target.

Is it possible to increase the accuracy a bit? I know there is a option for the Enemy Units but is there one for my crew?

You are playing with version 1.0. Wait for version 2.5.2 (that of screenshots).
Remember, however, it is difficult to hit a target 18km away. The closer you get, the more accurate your aim will be (even that of the enemy).
