Downloaded a camera mod;

Which has the ability to zoom in closer when in follow cam (next unit / previous unit rather than free cam) and I would like to set my own customized cameras.dat file to enable that. Trouble is I can't find where it is, been spending hours on end swapping files and comparing data, no luck at all. fred8615 (https://www.subsim.com/radioroom/member.php?u=213277) are you still here?

Probably mislabeled like a lot of other stuff.
324 node dummy cam object view.
sub node 331 cameraParams, first entry;
AngularAngle = 75
Description: The angular angle [deg].
Wrong, whatever value the number is (feet, meters, furlongs, hectares) it's actually the minimum distance from the camera to the ship being followed. Changing that number from 75 to 35 allows the view to get much closer. :up:
Nothing to do with viewing angle.

Excellent. Glad you got it! Interesting, isn't it, how some items in the game are "named"?... lol

Yup, would be nice if someone finally solved the puzzle for submerged range, endurance, and recharge rate, it sure as hell ain't what it says in S3D. :doh:

From what I recall, AngularAngle is the equivalent of the field of view angle. If you half it, the target will look twice as large as the image must fill the view.

Here's some more info from Mav87th explaining about the degrees at 1,000 yards:

Also this one which seems to have inspired CapnScurvy:
