GWX Warship Question

I tried the Dithmarschen Class Depot Ship from version 2 of the warships addon.

I was wondering what purpose is it in the game?
I tried it in a few missions but got destroyed at the first contact with any enemy ships, the last one an aircraft bombed me and broke it's back.

Also is there no auto-fire on some ships?
I was trying a warship and got attacked by aircraft, I had men on the AA gun but when I activated the gun it went to manual fire control not the ai firing.

I'm afraid I thought I read how to do it but I am still lost.

I have version 3 of the warship mod enabled, I am playing a the Hipper, I'm under attack but the ship isn't responding to fire back, I click on the deck gun but it wants me to fire it, how do I get it to aut-fire, I have men in position?

I also click on Surface Attack in the crew management section but still the ship doesn't respond to fire back.

Does anybody else who plays as a warship know the answer please?

At last I got it to work.
I found the answer on the Ubisoft forum, a guy there was having the same trouble and he got the answer, I tied it and it worked.
