Hi shipmates, i seem to be having problems switching over from diesel to electric propulsion when diving to PD from the surface.

Currently running up to date version of SH5, Uplay version with latest complete TWOS mod, any help appreciated.

Switch from diesel to electric engines will happen automatically when you pass 8 meters or so...:yep::salute:

Alternatively if you want something non automatic, go to the engineer in the crew member tab. You sometimes want an extra bit of speed for example when you surface and I often stop recharging and get him to run on diesel.

Btw...I’ve noticed a bug that batteries recharge on the surface whether diesel’s running or not.

Not really...Check engine RPM gauges in your engine room and you'll see that the starboard engine is running and uses fuel while you recharge the batteries. Only port engine controls diesels running animation. This is game limitation...

That’s interesting thanks. I’ll check it out.

Can I use electic engines on surface?
Button "electric engine only" didnt works (or i dunno about how it must work).

upd: the issue with forced switching to electric was resolved using a generic patcher (how many hidden features are buried there). But nothing worked with the quiet running problem (from that thread https://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?p=2912216#post2912216 ). Activating the Electric engine ratios line led to incorrect operation of the telegraph, so I had to turn it off.
