Could someone here clarify something for me??...I have modded the akulas to have 14 tubes. But I'm not sure what the akula carries in the 6 externals. Is it only decoys?or does it carry its missiles there (ie ssn-16 stallions)as well. And if its only the decoys how are they guided if its the external tube which hasn't any wires?? What size are the external tubes? 533mm or 650mm?? Or is it only for the older decoys that aren't guided?

the Akula external tubes are for the MG-74ME Mod 1 & mod 2 self propelled Acoustic Counter measure Device they are out side the pressure hull and can only be reloaded port side or with a submarine tender
Statistics are :
MG-74ME mod 1 for submarines with electrical data input by EBWRU-100
Or
MG-74ME mod 2 for submarines with mechanical spindle data input
tube caliber in MM is 533
length in MM is 5000
weight in kg is 1050
speed only 2 settings
17 & 22 knots
Launch systems can be Hydraulic or Pneumatic
on my cold waters i assigned decoys that are external to vls

i have great fun with my Yankee notch (Project 667AT Grusha) a true 14 tube torpedo submarine and why i made my 14 tube torpedo mod
2 -400 mm torpedo tubes so set-40 or set-40 u
4-533 mm torpedo tubes
then port and starboard waist tubes 4 either sides so 8-533 mm poss 6-533 mm and 2-650 mm tho i recon 8-533 mm internal storage on these is 40 then original bow torpedo complement.
